Was watching Pulp Fiction tonight and at the part when Vincent buys the three grams of heroin I got inspired and went on a search for instructions on shooting heroin, purely to satisfy my curiosity.

I just got inspired to find out how to shoot heroin from the movie "pulp fiction". Don't ask me but I never in my life bothered to find out how to shoot it..
:D
And I learned a new phrase, "chasing the dragon" ;)
Now I know, and knowing is half the battle.

That whole movie is a trip. I'd like to see more of that style of film from QT, but I don't think that movie ever needs a sequel.. :D To do so, just would not and could not do it justice.
You know the scene where they are in the hamburger joint and she orders a $5 milk shake, I wonder if it really was worth it?

Yeah in a place like Hardrock Cafe your going to pay $5 or more. At many restaraunts that make real milkshakes here in Chicago $4 is the norm and yeah worth it if your milkshake kinda person.
Hey thanks BB, I was just thinking of taking up my habbit again and was a little rusty.

Glad to have helped. If you have any tips to add, by all means do so. :) Everything at the Hardrock Cafe is overpriced. But the quality is superb. The one in Kobe, Japan is really overpriced.. $23 for a hamburger and french fries LOL, but it's like a mega burger that stacks up to about 8 inches or so.
We have this little joint back in my hometown called "Johnny's Big Burger". You can get a whole meal for less than $5, and it is superb. Milkshakes run about $1.50 and worth every penny. The place is like Mel's Diner. Johnny, the owner works the grille, while customers sit and wait for him to fry it up. The smells of the joint, and in the back of the place they have a small little arcade.
And as you walk in and just as you leave, you see the wall of fame. You see pictures of famous people from Mohammad Ali to Elvis Presley. Word is also that under the restaurant there's a little weekend casino/card game that is by invite only, kinda like the movie "Rounders".
Man do I miss that place. Why do I bring it up, cause it was were all the junkies went to eat on the cheep, junkies and college students, what a mix. And nearly every other night the police were called for some type of violent act that went on at Johnny's.
:D
And just to show you I am not making Johnny's up, here is a picture, though not very good.

O.K. I deliberated over confessing this for a bit.
But I have chased dragon several times. I spent 3 months (yes I know the visa is only 2 =p) in Northern Thialand in the golden triangle in my youth.
I wanted to try opium (the base element of heroin) and I didn't want to use needles due to hepatitis. The feeling is similar to eating a giant roast turkey with extra cranberry sauce then drinking a fine bottle of red wine and laying down on a big sofa. You feel groggy and stupified, but unervingly happy and content in ones sloth.
I tried it as it was offered to me, as custom had, it in a mountain village on the border of Burma (North of Chiang Rai (http://lupotour.co.th/pictures/thailand/thaimap.jpg)). I ended up becoming quite attached to the custom ;)
And became extreemly ill several days after leaving as I suffered "minor"
with-drawl symptoms.
This stuff was pure opium (http://www.erowid.org/chemicals/opiates/opiates.shtml) paste (otherwise known on the streets as brown sugar) and not heroin which is cut with impurites to increase street profit.
So in answer to your question Booger - I have ...
I danced with the devil and he stood on my toes.
It's not big and it's not clever - but hey, it was fun when I had the brain cells to spare.

Wow... thanks for the insight Zen, I guess you are on the path to Pure err... Zen. I guess the thrill of being in an alternate reality has its pros and cons... Also, this has showed that some ppl (ie me) can be quite sheltered in Western Countries... since i thought 'Chasing the Dragon' was some medievel "camelot" thing for Knights to win pretty ladies :D

So do ignorant people... (bites tongue)
Didnt you read my post ?
Or was it too hard to understand ?
I was young and I could afford the brain cells - I suggest you stay VERY far away from it.

I have never seen anyone reckless enough to shoot heroin bother to use an alcohol swab.
But then I haven't seen much of the world.

Did you know that heroin is one of the safest drugs to use, healthwise?
It is addictive as hell, and that can become a problem. But heroin does not destroy.

I'd never chase the dragon. But there's tons of people who shoot it. Some of them shoot it between the toes to hide their addictions. I couldn't even imagine that.
Heroin overdoses are lethal. And I don't know too many resources out there that cover heroin dosages.
