Hardware Acceleration on Full Makes Videos and Movies Appear in Black and White

I have been having this issue all day. I have uninstalled and reinstalled my video drivers, used older drivers, used the latest forceware drivers, uninstalled all my codecs, everything I can think of to fix this issue.

If I put the hardware acceleration on the middle one that disable directdraw and direct3D acceleration, the color comes back. I have installed DirectX 9.0b..

I have tried 3 different video players, and all produce the same results.. unless I move video acceleration down, it plays in black and white...

If I do move it down, it plays in color but it becomes really choppy...

Any ideas?

On this particular machine it is a Geforce 4 Ti4200 64Mb.

Have you ever had this problem before? Because it could be Direct X 9.0b. Why don't you try rolling back to a older DX version?

BTW, i presume you uninstalled the drivers via add/remove , and not via device manager. ;)

I'll give the driver cleaner a try. I used hardware manager, and add/remove. Just to see if it made a difference.

I figured this might be a driver problem because I've never had this issue b4. It started after I hooked my television up via TV-out.

I always use Driver Cleaner whenever it's time to upgrade video card drivers. :cool:
