i have a ASYS 500watt power supply, and i want to take the fan out and put in a 3pin fan connector that plugs into the motherboard......does anyone know how i can do this?

You would first need the pin out diagram from the manufacturer. This would explain which pins did what and you could then determine the correct way to attach to the new connector.

I wouldn't be fooling around with the insides of the power supply unless you absolutely knew what you were doing (like have an electronics background).

well i dont know exactly what im doing but i have some idea.....thats why i needed some help...but if it means getting killed i dont think it worth it....

You want to plug the fan into the motherboard ?

I wouldn't plug that fan into the motherboard, the MB headers aren't made for much of a load other than the small fans on the chipsets.

rule of thumb with PS if there broke replace them dont try to fix it or mod it out just buy the best one for your needs and dont screw with them.
