I just bouht another processor to swap out for the one I have... now my question is besides just changeing the processor internally is there anything else that I need to do such as reset the bios or anything? Stripe June 18th, 2004, 13:49 PM not really (not dealing with OC'ing) pretty much you take out the old one, slap some thermal paste on the new one and put it in. Then boot the puppy up. Just make sure that your board can handle the faster speed... phishhead June 18th, 2004, 14:27 PM well stripe dont forget if the cpu's are at different FSB then you will need to adjust the timings in the bios. cardriver June 18th, 2004, 15:03 PM well I'm going from a 2600 athlon MP to a 2600 athlon xp mobile to OC it more... both have a 266 mhz fsb. however the current MP is oced slightly... couldn't squeeze too much out of this sucker.
