TZ is getting over 3000 uniques a day, but how many hits?

hotmale you are a stats geek. :D

Don't forget those uniques are just the front page and they don't always include visitors behind a proxy.

Our approx average daily hits,(just the front page),in August was 350000

:bigeek:
It would take me 19.44 years :p to get that number of hits (at the current rate that is)

You're right, Rev. I am obsessed with stats.
So here's another question: how many hits or uniques was TZ getting when you first tried to promote it (don't try to tell me all this happenned as a coincidence)

BTW, why don't you boast that massive number of hits on the homepage?

how many hits or uniques was TZ getting when you first tried to promote it (don't try to tell me all this happenned as a coincidence)From memory i think we averaged about 1000 uniques within the first few months of installing the front page,(nov/dec 2002),and it has steadily increased.

BTW, why don't you boast that massive number of hits on the homepage? The Virtua News system doesn't have a hits query.

A thousand uniques from the first months
I hope I had never started this thread. These figures make me wonder: why on earth am I spending hours everyday on my site in return for nothing? :(

A fact you may not know but the forums were up for quite a while before the Front Page (news page) was installed.

To me, the biggest reason for the success of Techzonez is Reverend's over site. He has insisted that the tone of this site remain helpful and polite.

I had visited other tech forums before finding this home. Those trips were never satisfactory. Several times the answers contained more sarcasm than help. We welcome newbies and experts alike. Hopefully we never slip into embarrassing someone asking a tech question.

On the other hand, if you want to embarrass my friend - Big Booger...:D

http://www.howardforums.com/index.php?s= could not hold a candle to TZ's link popularity but they sure have an incredible online user base - I don't understand how they maintain with so many visitors without error while other sites are brought down with half the visitors - they are kind of rude there as well. I stopped visiting.

Techzonez has such good link popularity because of it's affiliates and because the forum has specific content. There's little spamming in tech support sections.

A trip down memory lane to show hotmale our humble beginnings.

This was how our front page (http://web.archive.org/web/20020923154453/http://techzonez.com/) looked 2 years ago

And the forums (http://web.archive.org/web/20020923154453/http://www.techzonez.com/forums/) 2 years ago

TZ's motto, slow but steady progress. We believe in quality, not quantity. :D

Rev,
I miss the world timezones :D

And efc, you are spot on. We treat all equally around here.. except for spammers.. (myself not included :D)

I grew so acustom to the new design that I had forgotten how it was the old one :p
Man, time flies so fast. I just realized that it has been over 2 years. Either the forum is doing well, or I am becoming old :p

We believe in quality, not quantity. :D So based on that theory your true post count should be less than 100. :msntongue :D

So, BB's post count to 1 % of his counter :p

I remember back in the day I thought this place was never gonna have the traffic and members it has today. Gotta realize Rev does alot of promoting in the background. and us Mods have it easy...this community is so mellow I never have to do anything minus the occasional spammer. and since Boogs stopped posting religious and gov. threads everyone is getting along GREAT. ;)
