NIC problem

I have RealTek NIC, I'm connected to the internet be router called "B-FOCuS 270pr". when I define my IP in NIC's TPC\IP I have a problem of limited connection. If I ask him to find the IP by himself it takes him 3 min on each logon.
Anyone have any solution?

Try updating the Realtek NIC drivers? Try flashing the router firmware? Try changing the NIC from half to full duplex? Or vice versa.

Are you using a firewall such as ZoneAlarm or Norton? They make increase load time trying to configure IPs on DHCP... ??
