View Full Version : Resident Evil 4
Dehcbad25 November 2nd, 2004, 04:42 AM Any RE fans out there? I was checking the trailers today, and it looks pretty promising.
I like the series very much, thought, I haven't been able to finish any of them, but CV
I play old school without the use of guides. Took me about 4 months to finish CV :p. Got a gamecube just to play the re-makes, but haven't been able to find RE2 yet
Maybe I should starting next weekend playing them again.
Anyhow, the trailers look awesome, and the gample looks like improved giant steps. What do you guys think?
lemoncoke November 22nd, 2004, 13:15 PM I haven't been able to finish any of them ???
Why ??
It is a good game.....
I finish RE0 b4. I love that game very much.
Waiting RE4 ^_^
Stripe November 22nd, 2004, 14:35 PM I liked the first Resident Evil, but I havent followed much of the series. I felt it kinda lost its "spunk". Since then, for my scare thrills, I've played some of the Silent Hill series and love it. can't finish them all the way though...get too scared :D
Dehcbad25 November 23rd, 2004, 00:54 AM Well, I remember I started to play this kind of games with Alone in the Dark 3, but I lost interest since I couldn't do much. At that time I had no Internet and I was really stock. Then I found a guide, and I started playing it again (discovered how to continue) I really liked the game, but...then again stop playing (I moved to US then, so I had no PC for a while, and I was kind of busy).
Many years later (well, not that many, I moved here in 1999, and this is 2001) I bought a Dreamcast. I started buying controllers, memory cards, games from eBay. I love Dreamcast, you can buy so many stuff for it for cheap. One game was Resident Evil Code Veronica. After that I was in love with the genre. But decided to do them from the start. So I got RE 2 Platinum. I got RE 3 for the PC and RE for the PC. RE kind of sucked, but since the new one was for the game cube I waited. I played Dino Crisis 1 and 2. Then got my gamecube, got RE 0, and Code VEronica X, and then........I couldn't find RE (Remake) so I had to wait more months. Now I want to play and finish them all in series. Starting RE, Silent Hill, Clock Tower and Resident Evil. :) I will be busy. Today Arrived Clock Tower 3. I bought it for 12 cents in eBay, Brand New :D

Yo Dehcbad25,
You have the same taste in games as me man, one time you should fill me in on all your Silent Hill and Resident Evil experiences, i would be happy to discuss the whole series with ya in detail ;)
I'm also looking forward to Resident Evil 4, playing as Leon Kennedy again will be awesome!
I miss Claire and Leon Kennedy, Claire just wasn't the same in Veronica, nothing like RE 2, and i was unhappy about this, i hope she can make an appearance in RE 4, but i doubt it :(
I just hope Capcom can recreate the Resident Evil magic again, just like Silent Hill has managed to do, time and time again :D
Dehcbad25 December 13th, 2004, 03:34 AM Great, maybe you should stop by my house and we can have a freaky game marathon :D
Unfortunately my brothers don't enjoy the taste as much. It might have something to do that I usually show them the scariest scenes :p They pretty much don't like Eternal Darknes SR because of that. I have to admit, I got quite scared in a certain scene, enought to drop the control :p. I finished Clock Tower 3 yesterday again, so it would habe been hard mode, and proud to say I beat the hard mode in 3:15 hours. I want to finish RE in less then 2:30 next. I also installed Silent Hill 3 finally yesterday, with 5.2GB I can say it is quite huge, and it has some weird feeling, like, I am lost, and don't know what to do, and freaked out at the same time. I like it :D
The motion is somehow slower, but I liked the graphics. Kind of dark...it reminded me of Doom 3. (probably would have been inverse and correct to say that Doom 3 has a feeling of SH3, but I played them inverse)
I am actually going to install SH4 to see if I can compare them. BTW, are the SH stories tied? or the games are pretty much independient?
GimieGimieGimie December 13th, 2004, 10:20 AM Silent Hill 3 is definately the most scariest of the series, nothing comes close to freaking you out like that game can do.
Scariest game i've ever played, not through out, but just at certain parts, such as the hospital near the end, the alternative changes into a bright red/pink living version of it's self, and the walls and floors are alive and the screen is just disgusting, not to mention the noises and fast beat they throw at you.
Silent Hill 3 is also one of the most enjoyable of the series, the storyline is intense and finishes off the gigantic storyline from Silent Hill 1.
Heather is Harry Mansons daughter, but not the young girl from the original game, but the new born baby he ran away with if you got the GOOD ending.
The game is very long and very satisfying, so much so, it's like living a horrible part of your life you wish never to relive, but be glad it's over, you will always remember it as one of the greatest of the series, but it isn't the type of game you can just play over and over for the hell of it.
Silent Hill 4 - The Room, is a completely different storyline to 3, and it's based on an actual mini-story, that was sneakerly included in a newspaper artical you find in Silent Hill 2.
Whilst playing Silent Hill 2, James even refers to a "hole" that was once there, but no longer exists when he enters alternative silent hill, referring to the type of holes you use to enter the Silent Hill type world in Silent Hill 4.
It appears to me, that Silent Hill 4 was in the making at the same time Silent Hill 2 was, thus the both games have very strong links, infact, the Apartment Manager in Silent Hill 4 is infact James father, Frank Sunderland.
So Silent Hill 1 and 3 are linked, and 2 & 4 are linked, interesting how they have decided to do this.
Regarding Silent Hill 4, it's one hell of a game, it's completely different to the other Silent Hill's, new battle mode, new weapons, 10 item limit inventory, first person mode/3rd person, no radio! (creatures make their own noises)
The game also focuses heaverly on melee combat (fighting with metal weapons) instead of actually guns, infact the guns are pretty crap, and you find yourself falling in love with all types of cutting weapons, my favourite was the rusty axe :D
The only thing about the game that reminds you, that you are still playing Silent Hill, are the creatures you fight and the surroundings you visit, other then that, Silent Hill 4 is a completely new format of game.
That doesn't make the game any less enjoyable, in fact the changes bring a new breath of life into a long line of series, Silent Hill 4 is one of the Silent Hill series i play, over and over again, just because it is so much fun to kill creatures! :D
The music is also very heart wrenching, and certainly the most emotional of the series.
I would recommend any Silent Hill fan to play Silent Hill 4, it's yet another success story for the Silent Hill series, personally, this reviewer can't wait to see what they are going to do with Silent Hill 5.
I'm hoping they make a Silent Hill Prequal, because a few questions need to be answered from Silent Hill 1, that wasn't answered in Silent Hill 3.
A game based on the very beginning of Silent Hill and it's cult, would be fantastic and would certainly end the game in my heart on a positive note.
Enjoy playing Silent Hill 3 Dech, i'm sure you will love it, watch out for the hospital, there is a room in there with a gigantic mirror, and if you stare at your reflection for too long, the image of yourself on the other end will start bleeding all over, and the room will lock.
And eventually the walls of the room will start bleeding all over and scare the shit out of you :D

LOL....Gimmie, you should work for Gamestar Mag dood....hell of a revue!!
GimieGimieGimie December 14th, 2004, 17:11 PM LOL....Gimmie, you should work for Gamestar Mag dood....hell of a revue!!
LOL
I simply tell it as i see it! :D
Dehcbad25 December 15th, 2004, 04:08 AM THANKS GIMMIE, now I won't get scared aymore :p Remind me not to ask you about a movie because you will tell me the ending :p
Just kidding, actually to be totally honest, I can guarantee that I will completely forget about the warning by the time I get there, and I will get scared :p
So, do you think I should play Silent Hill 1 first?, and then 3, and later 2 and then 4
Did I get it right?
Did you play Alone in the Dark? I had played 2 and 3, but I didn't get far. Now that I am older (and I know less) I might be able to reach farther, but I didn't know if they have storyline tide to each other.
It is funny, I had bought Alone in the Dark 4 and I got the first one in a magazine and I haven't install them. (I had even Shogun total war in the shrink wrap, so I am not surprised) :p
GimieGimieGimie December 15th, 2004, 17:12 PM To be honest, no, i haven't play any "Alone In The Dark" series, i know of their existence, but some how i got the impression they was crap?
What are they about?
And yes to your question, you got it right about the game versions :D
FastGame December 15th, 2004, 17:51 PM To be honest, no, i haven't play any "Alone In The Dark" series, i know of their existence, but some how i got the impression they was crap?
I bought Alone in the Dark 2 and it was so bad I threw it in the trash 20min later, I didn't even ask anyone if they wanted it.
Resident Evil 4 should be made for the PC so we can forget about the $$ wasted on Doom 3 :)
petard December 15th, 2004, 18:29 PM ...snip...
Resident Evil 4 should be made for the PC so we can forget about the $$ wasted on Doom 3 :)
Man you're not kidding. Doom3 is lame.
Dehcbad25 December 17th, 2004, 01:10 AM I would say that Alone in the dark was the first in the survival series, thought it is more centered in suspense. I have AITD 3 and I thought it was good. It is a lot more centered in the puzzless and requires more knowledge.
They are all DOS games exept the last one, and are from 1992, 1994, and 1995, but I think the graphics were pretty good considering the times IMHO.
I think a problem is that after playing today's games it is difficult to play and old game without aftecting the perception on what the game was in the moment. It is like playing NFSU and then NFS the first one :p
I think Doom3 was fine the first hour of play. I haven't touched the game after that, and I feel so happy I didn't buy it :p a friends lend it to me :p
PIPER December 17th, 2004, 06:52 AM I agree Dehc, Doom 3 was good for a short while....after that it s**ked big time....wish I could say that I didn't buy the damn thing. :(
Dehcbad25 December 19th, 2004, 20:47 PM Just as a note, RE4 will be made for the PS2, but the release date is a far from the GC version
r_a_s_10 December 22nd, 2004, 04:22 AM Just as a note, RE4 will be made for the PS2, but the release date is a far from the GC version
Resi 4 wil be coming out on the PS2 probably september/october 2005 so GC owners will have a good 10 months or so bragging to their PS2 mates about the game. At first I was pi**ed that it was coming out on the PS2 too but now im not that fussed considering the dates have been spread out. Resi 4 comes out on the GC in the US on Jan 11th and in the UK probably on the 1st Feb (although i doubt that) or the 18th March alongside MGS3 Sanke Eater :D
GimieGimieGimie December 22nd, 2004, 10:27 AM I CAN'T wait for RE4! :D
In the mean time, i'm going to get myself my own copy of Project Zero - Crimsome Butterfly to keep me occupied :D
r_a_s_10 December 23rd, 2004, 00:38 AM Too bad us ppl in the UK gonna have to wait till probably march till we get our hands on Resi 4.....I'm seriously thinkin bout gettin a US copy tho!! I had Project Zero the first one on the ps2, not a ad game and original but a little too easy! I'm keeping myself occupied with Pro Evolution Soccer 4 and Paper Mario as well as repeatedly playing through my Resi Evil collection:D
GimieGimieGimie December 23rd, 2004, 09:06 AM Well, i agree with the easy part, project zero was very easy, hehe.
But the story line was absolutely amazing with the rope maiden and the whole grandmother in the past, very sick, storylines is what compells me to video games.
Game play has to match the story line of course though :D
r_a_s_10 January 5th, 2005, 01:20 AM B*stard Capcom :( I been checkin out tha new trailers and pics of Resi 4...the game looks awesome! I haven't looked forward to a game this much ever since when Street Fighter 2 first came to home consoles....I'm pretty sure this will probably be my fave game of all time, I've already made space for it in my game rack. It'll go right alongside Code Veronica and bring my Resi Evil collection to 5 on the GC! Can't be asked with all the Outbreak sh*t...gimmick crap!! BUT WHY THA F*CK DO WE HAVE TO WAIT TILL MARCH...I EVEN TRIED GETTING A IMPORT COPY ON AMAZON.COM BUT THEY SAY THEY CANT DELIVER TO UK
Dehcbad25 January 5th, 2005, 02:07 AM I only need to find for a decent Price RE3 for the GameCube and I will have a complete colection of RE games for PC, Dreamcast and Gamecube. :D No need to collect for the PS2 since they are the same games, plus Survivor and Outbreak don't add much. After all my GC I got it for the RE games.
Last week I got Dino Crisis 2, for the PC, so I have some games to finish while I wait for RE 4 ;)
Plus Santa (mom) has lost the receipt for the pre-purchase, so I might have to wait until she finds it :wail: which could be years from now :p
PS: Learn from my mistake, never send your mom to do a gamer's job :D
r_a_s_10 January 6th, 2005, 01:36 AM Full collections for PC, Dreamcast and GC?? That's cool  I had Resi 2 and 3 on the PC...dunno where they are now tho:( Had CVX, Dead Aim and Outbreak on the PS2...the latter two were awful in my opinion! Outbreak was a bunch of crap...it had Resi 1 graphics from the PSone and the loading time was ridiculous! Ok maybe it never had Resi 1 graphics :o but in comparision to the GC's Resi Zero and the remake of Resi 1 it was garbage...I dunno how the PS2 is gonna pull off Resi 4...it's gonna look shite on the PS2 i reckon!! They can't even make a football game (Pro Evo 4) without it slowing down...doesnt stop me from playing it tho :D
Dehcbad25 January 6th, 2005, 13:39 PM PS2 is kind of funny. I have seen too many having problem loading the games. Games freezing....kind of like in a cheap PC :p
The Last game I got was RE2, but I got it just for the sense of completion, since I already have it for PC (platinum) and for Dreamcast. And I will be playing it in the PC since I am not that good using controllers :p Beside I can save a lot more (moving the save files once they are full ;))
Last Night I watched again (but on DVD this time) RE apocalipsis. I think overrall is a good movie born from a game
Now, I want to make something clear. I don't really play that much ;)
GimieGimieGimie January 6th, 2005, 17:32 PM PS2 is completely outdated now, it was released in 2000 i believe, that makes it 5 years old, they should of had PS3 out by now, i'm tired of the graphics.
GTA San Andreas is a great example of how far the PS2 graphics can go, not far.
Even in final fantasy X that was released more then 2 years ago now, the special effects in that slowed the ps2 down at some points, the games being made are far more superior then the actually console and have been for years.
So it's about time PS3 came out, because i don't like the controllers of the other consoles, they are crap to me, X-BOX is ok, but i still prefer the ps2 controllers like i've mentioned before.
It's the sole reason why i buy PS2 format, instead of X-Box & PC, because of the controller, i hope they always keep the same format :D
In my opinion, without a PS2 controller, the only games i can play with keyboard and mouse allowing me to have the best control, are first person shoot em ups, and strategy games.
Though, now i know about a USB PC plug-in for a PS2 controller, i might start buying games for the pc, because they are cheaper!
I got I-Ninja for the pc 6 months ago for £4.99, but it's still £29.99 on most console formats!!!
But i doubt i'll ever shake my console playing habbits, because the best thing about playing a games console that a pc can't match, is the ability for friends to gather around and knock out game after game on a big 32 inch television, now that will never die! ;)
But what you said about PS2 freezing and breaking down like an old pc Dech isn't true in my case.
I've never had any games lock up on me, ever, my friend gets it though, but you will find it's actually the disc and not the console, people just can't look after a cd without getting smudged or scratched
You must also take into concideration also, that the PS2 in my opinion hasn't got the longest life expectacy, if used on a daily basis like mine is, expect the console to last 2-3 years before you have to start replacing parts like the lazer unit that simply burns out, or the fan goes and the PS2 over heats.
I've had my silver unit a whole year christmas, and it's been knocked about like ****, and i still haven't faced a single problem yet, and i've killed it with 100's of hours game play :D
Sony did better with the PS1, average life expectacy being 3-5 years, slightly better then the PS2, but this is probably down to the fact it's older technology and is less stressed by the games.
I'm hoping my PS2 will last all the way to the end of next year, end of 2006 i heard was the planned release date of PS3, though i've read little about it, so these dates are probably months old information :p
r_a_s_10 January 7th, 2005, 00:54 AM I wouldn't be surprised if us ppl in the UK ended up gettin the PS3 in the end of 2007
btw i agree PS2 pads are the best! GC pads are alright for Resi and normal platformers like Mario Sunshine....but when it comes to fighting games its f*cked up! That's why i end up gettin multi-format games such as Prince of Persia on the PS2 altho at times I am tempted to get them on the GC simply cos it looks smoother
Dehcbad25 January 7th, 2005, 02:09 AM there has been pads for the PC that look like the PS. Try the Firestorm from ..(I can't remember the brand) They have a version with the dual analogs, plus some extra buttons. You can also get a 32" LCD monitor ;)
In my case I can't. I don't have space where to put it :p

I've heard of the firestorm, i wonder if they feel as good as a ps2 controller does, it would easier, and would be great if they was of the same quality :D
And about a 32" monitor, ouch, that's got to hurt the finance department of anyone who buys one :p
And Ras, it's nice to see someone with as much good taste in constrollers as i do :D
Dehcbad25 January 7th, 2005, 16:12 PM DAMM, I click something and I lost all that I typed. ohh well
I did wrote a long review of the controller. Now I will make it short. The buttons are fixed for newbies, since R and L buttons take time to get acustom too (with newbies). It has extra buttons on the back, and it feels nice to the touch thanks to a plastic cover on the controller. I recomend testing them at a computer store. CompUSA carries them for example. I had an old model, and since mine broke (2 years of use) I am going to buy a new one when I can.
They are also very cheap. I bought mine for 15$, so there isn't really much reason not to try them. I bought it because of the price and I ended up loving it
r_a_s_10 January 8th, 2005, 00:29 AM Firestorm sounds like a decent pad...is it available in the UK?? My cousins got this multi tap imported from China which allow you to plug your PS2 pads into them! Its really good and u can play games such as four player games such as Pro Evolution Soccer with no problems:D Definately worth checking out in my opinion!
r_a_s_10 January 8th, 2005, 02:53 AM Jus spent the past half hour or so reading Resi 4 reviews!! MOUTHWATERING STUFF !! I'd part exchange my gf for an early copy:p....keep that quiet tho

r_a_s_10 January 8th, 2005, 14:54 PM I'm contemplating on ordering the US version of Resi 4 from www.lik-sang.com. They are supposedly one of the best in importing games. It's only gonna cost £32.05 including p&p which is great considering the game will cost £40 when it is released here! I wanna play it now whilst i'm off from uni rather than get it in March where i wont have much time what with courseworks and stuff!
Is this site any reliable...it sez it'll take 5-14 days...which isnt too bad...but I don't wanna be waiting around longer!! The UK version will be identical right to the US version?? I'm planning on using my Action Replay which has Freeloader with it in order to run the game..that should work, shouldnt it??
Dehcbad25 January 9th, 2005, 17:44 PM They have been around for a long time, and do heavy marketting. I never ordered thought, since don't really need to buy import games. I only bought a couple of import games for the Dreamcast (Dead or Alive 2 LE, and Guilty Gear X) but I bought them thru eBay. DOA2LE cost me my pretty penny too, but it was worth it :p
r_a_s_10 January 9th, 2005, 21:04 PM Sounds good.....i've never bought anything from e-bay but i did get my Hi-MD from Amazon tho....saved myself £75 plus they delivered a month earlier than scheduled which was cool. I tried ordering Resi 4 from amazon.com site and they dont deliver to the UK...but i've placed my order on lik-sang.com so hopefully it'll arrive be4 this weekend:D
r_a_s_10 January 15th, 2005, 02:41 AM YEAH MY MUHFU*KING RESI ORDER IS FINALLY SHIPPING....LIK-SANG WERE TAKING AGES....I THOUGHT I WAS NEVER GOING TO GET IT  IM SO BORED WITH THE GAMES I GOT I NEED A NEW GAME TO PLAY
Dehcbad25 January 15th, 2005, 03:07 AM well RAS. Lik Sang can't ship you a game before its release date :p
r_a_s_10 January 15th, 2005, 10:19 AM but there was no reason to wait 4 days after the game was released before they shipped it :( its not as if they were ot of stock! I BETTER GET MY GAME BY MONDAY AT THE LATEST
Dehcbad25 January 15th, 2005, 16:25 PM I might be wrong, but the release date was January 15, meaning today.... I will go and check it out. BRB
Dehcbad25 January 15th, 2005, 16:38 PM Well, silly me. You are right, the release date is (was) 1/11/2005, meaning I could have my copy 4 days ago :p I will and pick it up, since my Mom (great mom, right) has it already in her hand (That was my Christmas gift :D)
She pre-purchased the game in November :p
I am reading the review on Gamespot right now, and crying at the same time http://www.gamespot.com/gamecube/adventure/residentevil4/review.html?q=1&tag=gs_gc_flashtop_bg They are usually harsh with the ratings, meaning that the game MUST be really good. IT even has the editors choice.
I can't wait to get out of work, and go and give it a go :D
Some beers, lights out, and sound loud :D
r_a_s_10 January 15th, 2005, 22:09 PM  u've got a pre-purchase and havent bothered buying it yet?? SHAME ON UR MR. DEHCBAD25....SHAME ON U :p guess its understandable since ur working...but if it was me i'd hav been qeueing up from the week b4 it was released lol...but then again it is the game i have been waiting for 2 years to be released
Dehcbad25 January 16th, 2005, 05:34 AM well, it was my only item in the Christmas list (I had a couple more, but that have priority 1:p) the problems were 1) I thought it was going to be released the 15. I had to start playing Prince of Persia Warrior Within instead on Friday (Awesome game BTW) because I was still waiting for the game, 2 ) My mother lost the receipt, I had to call her 5 times to make sure she looked for it on Friday :p)
Dehcbad25 January 16th, 2005, 05:41 AM BTW< I am actually playing the game now
It is awfull, don't even start playing. You will get so disapointed....
..
..
..
Sicked :p It is actually pretty good :D
I got as far as chapter 3, and it is 5 chapters :D That were just the trial run. Now I will play it to the perfection
I know it is 5 chapters just because I looked on the Internet. I only looked to see what "Spinel" are for, but I don't want to read the faq, I want pretty much figure everything out by mysel, so, if you know if it is safe to sell them, or I should keep some I will apreciate it.
Best thing, I get to play RE4 with some Argentinean beer, some shrimp and some buffalo wings :D
Life sucks, doesn't it?
r_a_s_10 January 16th, 2005, 11:52 AM lmao@argentinean beer....good stuff??
Yeh played Warrior Within, def a good game....but im not gonna buy it till i've finished the first one which i got pretty recently!
5 chapters in Resi?? and u've completed 3 chapters already
i thought the game was meant to take about 20 hours to complete :(
life sure sounds pretty good 4 u....buffalo wings....damn now im all hungry and sh*t :p
i've got nothin better to do then watch "the o.c." :p (that marissa chick aint bad tho lol)
GimieGimieGimie January 16th, 2005, 14:14 PM I'm just going to wait for the official release and buy it online for £29.99 like i always do :D
I'm just reading the review now, i've been so busy that i haven't checked up on the game since 6 months ago.
I'll be back with my feedback on the review ;)
GimieGimieGimie January 17th, 2005, 14:46 PM :bigeek::bigeek::bigeek::bigeek::bigeek::bigeek:
Just watched the video review, *DROOL*
This is Silent Hill 4 and Resident Evil stuck together in a new type of game, i believe this was the natual step for the Resident Evil series, and it's just fitting, that it has happened for the most antisipated sequal of the series of all time.
I'll definately be buying it when it hits our shores, this is PERFECT gaming :D
P.S. I can't believe Leon Kennedy has made it from Rookie cop, to Government Agent! :D
r_a_s_10 January 17th, 2005, 15:46 PM the game def looks sick! reason im gettin it imported is because MGS3 comes out round about the same time as Resi 4 in the UK...so i wont have time for both of them as i'll be back in uni then!!
I'm pis*ed off cos DHL say they tried delivering the game to my house at around 12pm today but no one answered the door.....wtf i've made sure someones been at home all day!! Now i probably have to wait another day or two before i have the game in my hands :( bast*rds
Dehcbad25 January 17th, 2005, 21:38 PM Can't you pick it up from DHL?
I have picked up packages from their offices because I could not wait for the delivery (SCSI Drives, not games).
Anyhow, RAS you are right, it must be about 20 hours or so.
When I went back to play the game, I discovered that I was actually in chapter 1 episode 3 (1-3) not chapter 3. I have spent the last 2 days and I can't pass chapter 1 yet. It is pretty difficult game, but it is very good
Dehcbad25 January 17th, 2005, 21:45 PM Also, I am not completely sure about this. I made the first part so many times (because I was just playing around, letting my brother in law and brothers play), that I decided to start the game again. I think that if you replay the same part many times it becomes more difficult. There were a lot less items. I deleted the system file and the saves, and when I played again there were more items.
Another thing, at the end of each section it gives you sme stats. I believe it counts as kill times when you load the game from a save file too, if you were killed. I have not re-confirmed this, since the sections are quite long. So far I have about 4 hours (net) of play and I haven't finish chapter 1 yet.
And to think that RE I have finnish it in 2:15 or around :p
r_a_s_10 January 17th, 2005, 23:42 PM I would do that but i dont know where the nearest DHL office is....anyway i called them up anyway and told them to re-deliver 2morow...so fingers crossed :D All them things u mentioned about Resi 4 hypes up the game even more..i cant wait  I heard theres quite a few unlockables in this game so 'kill count' 'continues' etc are going to be important i guess. no sure if it has a ranking system like previous Resi games though.
2:15 is a good time for Resi 1...that game i found quite tough...same with Code Veronica too (but thats probably cos i only played throught that once or twice)
Dehcbad25 January 18th, 2005, 02:27 AM I finish RE only twice, but after the first time I finish it by myself I used a guide, so I could unlock the rest of the endings (luckily I save a lot usually) so I just had to reload some of the last saves, modified a couple of paths and enjoy the different ending. Then, I played with a Speed walkthought, which I couldn't really understand well (the names sounded weird) so I printed out maps (6 or 7 copies of each map) and I draw the path to follow and important key point, like pick up this item, or leave item box with only this items in inventory. Then I played with my brother reading the map, because you cannot pause, the videos count as time, item screen count as time, and picking up items count as time. (I did a test to make sure about it) ;) so I tecnically played the game about 5 times :p but all in the same month. That is how I got that time. I want to play it again, but this time without having time and score on mind. Just blasting fun with the rocket launcher :D
r_a_s_10 January 18th, 2005, 03:42 AM i've completed all the resident evils (zero, remake, 2 and 3) several times...all except for CVX that is! I tried playing resident evil remake the other day...cos i've played through the game a few times now i have that stars zombie following me around (the oe strapped with grenades) and sometimes i dont realise and i end up shooting him resulting in game over!! As a person who doesnt like to save too much it becomes extremely frustrating
I've never tried the speed walkthrough so i end up gettin just past 2:30 on my finish time but i've unlocked almost everything in all the resident evil games...i wanna get the tofu 4th survivor in Resi 2 but it just seems a bit too long...too time consuming!!
r_a_s_10 January 18th, 2005, 03:55 AM btw have u seen a film called Wrong Turn?? i was watching that earlier....it kinda reminded me of Resi 4 (crazy ppl with weapons, isolated location [forest], bear traps) only real difference is them ppl are deformed and really really fu*king crazy...they jus mutilate their victims! overall not a bad film though
Dehcbad25 January 19th, 2005, 01:45 AM that mode that you talked about is "One thought Zombie" The name fits quite well. Also I think the zombie is Forest Spyer, right? Former S.T.A.R.S. member
r_a_s_10 January 19th, 2005, 01:58 AM yeah thats the one Forrest something...but One Thought Zombie??? On my copy he appears on the normal mode :(
IT'S HERE, IT'S HERE...I TOOK UR ADVICE AND WENT AND PICKED UP MY RESI 4 2DAY...damn DHL messed up again but i've got my copy nonetheless
Really like the game so far...its brilliant, awesome, superb...there arent enough superlatives to describe how good the game is! I've got up to chapter 2.2...jus after rescuing the girl when you have to take the sky lift...but i keep getting killed cos i've got really low health and there arent any first aids or herbs :p
OK I'm off to go decaptitate sum crazy villagers :D
Dehcbad25 January 19th, 2005, 03:52 AM already 2.2 ?? Man, I am still in 2.1 :p Maybe because I am more throught? I do have plenty of health. I sold my punisher because it takes too much space, and I haven't found 9mm bullets so far, and I am selling the TMP bullets too :p
r_a_s_10 January 19th, 2005, 04:39 AM health wise im alright....but i messed up fighting against that "el gigante"...i used up all my herbs lol. so currently my life is on red (danger) which means one lethal hit and im dead....i need to find a first aid spray quick! i might have to go back a few sub cahpters and try look after my health
i dont really wanna be thorough first time round...jus wanna finish the game and try and learn from my mistakes for when i do go through the game properly second time round.
The punisher is another handgun...it uses the same bullets as a standard handgun (u know the ones that come in a red package)
By the way u speak spanish right?? so u understand wot them villagers are saying?? the only thing i understand is "cabron" which i think means "muthfu*ka" lol
Alright thats enuff Resi for 2day...i need sleep :p
GimieGimieGimie January 20th, 2005, 10:41 AM Man you guys have too much time on your hands :p
Over the years, starting with the UK release of RE 2 back in 1998, i've completed nearly every RE there is.
The only one i haven't really played, is ZERO, and that's because i haven't got around to it yet, i will do as soon as i find the time.
My favourite RE has got to be number 2, and that's simply because it was the first RE i played, and it was so advanced for it's time, it just got me hooked :D
I never had the time to complete the games over and over, i get bored with the repetition, i play games for the storyline, so after seeing every possible ending, i stop playing them.
I'm REALLY looking forward to RE 4 because i want to see what happens with Leon Kennedy, both Claire and Leon was amazing charactors in their day, and Claires storyline finished in Code Name Veronica when she finally met up with her brother Chris.
Now it's Leon's turn to finish he's storyline, he's storyline started alongside Claires back in RE 2, he was a rookie cop just starting he's new post at Racoon Police Department.
But as we all know, he's storyline thickened when he fell in love with the lovely Ada Wong, reporter/secret agent, but to be honest, we never really knew who she was, or who she worked for, only that she wanted desperately to find her boyfriend John.
I believe she works for no one but herself, the reason why she stole the G Virus is one of her senerio's was for her boyfriends sake in my opinion, i believe John has and will play a major part in umbrella's plans, just like William Birket and Wesker did.
Anyway, Leon fell in love with Ada, and in the 2nd/final senerio of Leon's quest, Ada was supposenly killed by T90, had a emotional death scene and everything, but someone threw that rocket launcher down to help Leon kill T90 in the end, and that person in the shadows was wearing Sherrys locket, and the only person who had that was Ada, so obviously she survived and Capcom wasn't finished with her storyline, not by a long shot, especially since they done their best to fake her death, and then hide her in the shadows at the end to keep you guessing.
This is why i can't WAIT for RE 4!
Capcom would be absolutely stupid not to finish off these 2 love birds storylines, Leon loved Ada, and she felt something for him, but she obviously still had feelings for her boyfriend John, who in RE 2, had been missing for 6 long months, most probably working on a secret project for Umbrella in a undiscloved location i believe.
Capcom finished off Claire Redfields storyline in a seperate game, Code Name Veronica, now I'm hoping that Capcom will follow suit with RE 4 and hopefully the storyline is based on Ada, John and obviously Leon, being the star charactor.
I may be completely wrong, but my guess is RE 4 *should* be based around John, the missing co-worker of Umbrella who we heard so much about, but never actually met!
He's probably one of the most important workers Umbrella have ever employed, and may have finally perfected the T/G virus to make the perfect zombies, which to me, the enemies in RE seem to actually be.
Ada will hopefully feature, trying to find John (again), and maybe have already found John, i'm hoping she has already found john, finished her feelings with him, and now wants to be with Leon, getting to watch Leon bump into Ada again would be the best thing ever, i can only imagine the emotions that will fly.
So i'm hoping the game is like this, i would love to see a good ending to an Resident Evil game, and it would be a real shame to leave the storyline incomplete :D
Happy ending for Leon, cmon Capcom, do it! :D
Dehcbad25 January 20th, 2005, 17:31 PM for a moment there I lost track or RE and I thought you were narrating a novel :p
I don't really know if capcom will follow you. Lately games have been turning to a darker side, and RE4 might not be the exception. Plus, is it really a happy ending when Claire reunites with her brother, but they are the only survivors from 2 locations??
Hehe, didn't thought of that....
Well, I will try to play RE2 on Sunday, and Saturday night, since I have the whole saturday busy. So I can get a better grasp of RE4 and compare it to your theory. Wait until I finish the game to buy your copy, so I can tell you the end ;)
RAS, don't bet me at it :D
r_a_s_10 January 20th, 2005, 22:35 PM HOLY SHIT...MAN ON FIRE!!!!!! MUTHAFU*KA MADE ME JUMP!! where did he come out from :p Dehc you'll know wot i'm talking about when you get there :D
I jus had the most awful time defeating this boss...he looks like sumthin out of a 80's movie (i wont say which one cos i dont want to spoil it for u guys) but damn he's freakin fast!!! This game is really really hard...i wonder if anyone will be able to get through it without getting killed at all cos it looks near impossible. Piece of advise...DONT put your control pad down even when watching the "cut scenes" ;)
Resi 2 was the first one i played too...borrowed it of my uncle! It was my fave until the GC remake of Resi 1 came out! I really liked that cos of the atmosphere and thought it was a tough game....but now Resi 4 has taken the throne!! Although this isnt "Resident Evil"...the story is Resi, the characters are Resi....but the gameplay is different...so different infact it its an action game first and then survival horror!! btw Resi games are the only ones i can finish over and over again...cant do it with other games (get bored of them too quickly)
Sorry to burst your bubble Gimie but sadly i dont think we'll get the happy ending that u want :(
For each time you complete Resi 3 you get an epilogue about the Resi characters. If u complete Resi 3 a few times u get Ada's epilogue which goes somtheing like:
----A woman looks at herself in the mirror. She used be called Ada Wong... But this morning she will say good-bye to the name."I'm not Ada Wong anymore..."
She feels her ab and thinks,"This is Ada's scar, not mine."
And as she says good-bye to Ada Wong, she can't stop her tears.
However, there isn't much time left before her next mission...----
Having played all the other GC Resi games i found clues suggesting that her relationship with that Umbrella employee, John, was only superficial!!! She was only "with" him so that she can gain information about the G-Virus etc.
Anyways I think John is dead now as he turned in to a zombie :p It sez so in Resi 1 (Remake) in a letter addressed to Ada saying "i'm infected...blah blah blah"
Practically everything about Ada was revealed in "Wesker's Report 1" which came out on DVD in Japan as a bonus with the Resi remake i think (damn UK we never get any bonus stuff  ) Check out the transcript if u wanna know more by going to gamesfaq and checkin out a Resi (Remake) faq by Chandoog.
Apparently i heard you know more by completing one of the Resi 4 mini games :D
U do realise Wesker is still alive right?? I'm hoping they dont finish Leon's story with Resi 4...wanna see him in Resi 5 as well as some of the other characters like Claire, Chris, Jill etc
I reckon Wesker is gonna have a big say in any future Resi games as he always has done with previous titles.
Too bad Leon and Ada cant jus run away and get married or something :p
Dehcbad25 January 21st, 2005, 00:49 AM ahh
the Wesker report Long, long document.
I read 2 years ago the detailed plot analisys of RE. I don't remember the author, but have you check that doc? It is really, REALLY long. I might re-read it after I finsih thru RE2, 3 and 4. I just read quickly to some parts to make sense of Code Veronica, but did not read it all. I remember I tried to avoid reading the wesker reports since it was a big spoiler (SAID IT IN BIG) so I haven't read that part (I think) I am so confused now. I do remember the notes from John which he leaves in the laboratory with the X-Rays saying he is infected. That I do
r_a_s_10 January 21st, 2005, 21:59 PM nope i havent read that document u on bout...i havent read through weskers report either. , jus bits and pieces of it.
U know in Resi 4, that bit they show in the trailer with the two villagers throwing one of the policemen that was with leon of the boat...did u come across that scene in the game?? i went past the lake and everything where u fight that huge sea monster but didnt come across that scene. did they remove it or sumthin from the final game??
Dehcbad25 January 22nd, 2005, 01:44 AM hehe. I see that you were really rushing thru the game. The scene is there. Check to see where Leon is seeing them. It is a kind of cliff. This is before you get in the boat. Just after the trap [rock] the road splits (check the map). If you go to the right, there is the boat, and the shed. If you go to the left, there is a small place with wood logs and a plain with a perfect spot to.....Chech a cinema :D
I hope you have a save file close. Probably you do, because that fish is not easy at all the first (10) time(s). And it is only an extra 45 seconds walk with no zombies or anything to shot. Put the popcorn if you like :D
r_a_s_10 January 22nd, 2005, 02:35 AM the first boss...i managed to kill him straight away! Was well proud of myself lol. He managed to knock me off the boat straight away (dunno if it happens to everyone or not) but after that i swam real fast back in to the boat and kept plugging away with the harpoons. but i tell you i struggled real bad with the troll...he really kicked the shit out of me! anyways i've almost finished the game....very very close to the end:D once i finish it im gonna go through the game again thoroughly after a few days
r_a_s_10 January 22nd, 2005, 02:35 AM btw thanx for tellin me where it is...i'll check it out second time round :D
Dehcbad25 January 22nd, 2005, 15:28 PM I discover the trick on the first boss is to always have your health in green. The lower your health that farther away you are nocked (or the slower you swim to the surface)
Troll is really easy. Did you have the dog at the very beginning? You should have ;)
r_a_s_10 January 22nd, 2005, 16:36 PM i did help the dog in the beginning and he did come to help during the troll fight...but the troll still kicked my ass :p at times wen im shooting him he kind of goes back so im gettin the shotgun ready to shoot that thing that comes out of his back and the next thing i know his charging at me and i dont have time to react!! one time he grabbed me two or three times in a row and ate away so much of my health!! Well im on the 2nd disc now....almost there :D
Dehcbad25 January 23rd, 2005, 19:15 PM For anyone that doesn't have the game, here is a little extra (or if you are at work and don't have the gamecube there ;))
http://claudiotosado.vilabol.uol.com.br/re4_crowskill/
r_a_s_10 January 25th, 2005, 17:15 PM i've finished it...finally managed to finish the game after being stuck on the 2nd disc for a few days! WOT A GREAT GAME...CANT WAIT FOR RESI 5 :p
How far have you got Dehc?? U finished it yet...if not wot chapter u on now?
btw i realised why i found the troll boss so hard...that thing that comes out of his back...i didnt realise u have to jump on his back and cut it!! I used up all my ammo cos i was shooting at it :o no wonder it took me ages and he ate up so much of my health!!
Dehcbad25 January 26th, 2005, 00:43 AM I haven't finished it yet. I believe I am in 2-2. Last time I played the game was on Saturday night. I work everyday. Today I arrived home at 8 PM. I try to study (which I barely do) and I read a lot about stuff that I am interested in (usually IT). I could probably be locked in my house for 6 months in front of the computer and not finish all that I want to do :p
Yes, that might be the why you found so hard the troll. Did you fight with him the second time? or you chose the ganados? I did both routes :D
I am just starting the castle. The game look a lot more difficult from there on.
r_a_s_10 January 26th, 2005, 02:08 AM i have too much time in my hand as im only studying at the moment (i go back to uni in the 1st or 2nd week of feb) and im currently lookin for part time work! so yeah most of the time im jus chillin out and playin soccer i guess.
i started the game again lol :p and thats when i realised the easier way to kill the troll. U have to fight against the troll 3 times in the game...twice in the beginnin which u know about and once in chapter 4 i think. the chapter 4 one is very very hard because u have to fight against two of them simultaneously...but there is a trick in killing them which i wont reveal so as not to ruin ur fun..and also make u struggle a little lol :p
i didnt take the ganado route when i completed the game first time...i took the troll route i didnt even fight him...i jus ran and started kicking the gate real fast to break off all the chains lol. Personally i think the ganado route is tougher because of the two chainsaw crazy women...them freaks are hard to dispose of!! But i guess i will have to do both routes too because theres a valuable treasure in the ganado camp which i want :D
Yeah the game is going to get real tough once u get to the castle...cos u get attacked by a lot of the robed maniacs plus u've gotta keep an eye on ashley as well to make sure she doesnt get killed or captured! further down the line u'll come up against some soldier type ganados and they are very tough so watch out!
btw how do u make a signiture..is it possible to upload an image from ur computer as a signiture or does it have to be an image on the net??
Dehcbad25 January 26th, 2005, 06:03 AM I have made my last ones with Expression 3. I am not that good with graphic programs, but that one was easy to use. The signature, if you want an image, it has to be hot linked using the [img] tag (check the advance commands)
For hosting of the signature I use forumsigns.com. The signature limits are described in the forum rules (http://www.techzonez.com/forums/showthread.php?t=615) 420x100 pixel 80 Kb in size.
Queston: how much of the RE2 history has the game? Do you recomend me to finish RE2 first? I could probably finish RE2 this weekend. RE4 is going to take me at least 4 weekends total :p
bhxtyrant January 27th, 2005, 05:25 AM Wow fellow Resident Evil fans here.I wasnt expecting that lol.I played RE4 many times since its release an awsome game indeed although after seeing the original RE4 that was scrapped i am angered i will never be able to play it.For more info on what i am talking about check out my site www.bio-hq.com the latest news article has links to vids of the original RE4.To say the least it looked amazing.
Queston: how much of the RE2 history has the game? Do you recomend me to finish RE2 first? I could probably finish RE2 this weekend. RE4 is going to take me at least 4 weekends total
I would definently recommend that you have at least completed RE1,2 and Code veronica before playing Resident Evil 4.The 3 games all contain information that will lead up to the events in RE4 and the characters involved in RE4.
r_a_s_10 January 27th, 2005, 07:28 AM nice to see a new resi fan :D
Thanx for the info on the signatures Dehc...I'm kinda new to all this :o
I agree with bhxtyrant...its a good idea to play Resi 2 particularly so u know the relationship between Leon and Ada, although u dont really find out much about her true identity in that game. The other Resi's arent all that important as long as u know a little about the Racoon City incident..but that doesnt really matter as u've already played Resi 1 and CVX.
The scrapped Resi 4 looked pretty good...very spooky and sinister. But i guess it was too much like the previous games which is why they scrapped it. I really like the setting...reminds me of Resi 1 a little (very atmospheric)
But I do like 'official' Resi 4...it seems refreshing and is a welcome change.
btw great site bhxtyrant, thanx for the link :D
r_a_s_10 January 27th, 2005, 08:57 AM has anyone seen the boxart for the PAL Resi 4?? I saw it a while ago on cdcovers.com but didnt know how to upload it. It's also available on that site bhxtyrant posted up earlier. I think this is the best box art i have seen in a while...it sums the game up! frightning!!!
GimieGimieGimie January 27th, 2005, 13:35 PM NOOOoOOoooOOooOOooOOooOOO!!!
How can they hurt me like this!?
A resident evil game i can hear and read about and never be able to play? :(
Man, it hurts, it hurts.
It's nearly as bad as Dino Crisis for the PS1, Dino Crisis 1 & 2 linked together, and in the end of #2, the ending was sick, involving serious time travel, and a cliff hanger ending i just wanted to see finished.
But they didn't, Dino Crisis 3 was released on X-BOX but i read the storyline, and it's based on a completely new set of charactors and is set in SPACE?
That really hurt, and so does this :(
On a brighter note, RAS, if you have the time, can you PM the main storyline of RE 4, and what happens with ADA, pretty please :D
I'm not the type of person who gets dissappointed when i hear the end of a movie or game, i'm a completely different bread of person who just needs to know the whole storyline ASAP, and playing it and watching what i heard come to life is more then i need to satisfy my appitite :D
Heh, in most cases, when i download a film, i watch the beginning, the middle and the end to check if theres any damage.
Then if it's a really good film, i go to watch it at the cinema as soon as i'm won over.
Then once i've seen the film, i go home and watch it fully again :D
It rulez

I know what you mean there, for years people have been wanting to play these "scrapped" versions of RE games especiall Biohazard 1.5(beta version of RE2) and the beta for Biohazard 1(Where the giant snake was in the shed area) its a real shame these games will never make it to the fans hands. It would be interesting to see what could have been.
I agree! Dino Crisis 1 and 2 were awsome games.I loved every moment of them so naturally i was hyped when i heard about part 3.The first screen shots i saw for DC3 were awsome then suddenly they were scrapped and the space version came out which i hated.I never finished it.Im just glad i didnt buy that game lol.
GimieGimieGimie January 28th, 2005, 08:14 AM Nice to know i wasn't alone with the Dino Crisis... Crisis :D
And about RE builds we will never see, we should write to the game makers offering money and power, someone is bound to leak a copy "accidently"

wish it wre that simple many people tryed a similar idea to get Biohazard 1.5(Beta version of RE2 which had a character named elza walker and the whole game was different except leon was in it) released and even had a patition with millions of signatures on it and still no luck.Perhaps you remember the site that started it? www.bioflames.com ? the site seems to be down now.
r_a_s_10 January 29th, 2005, 00:53 AM no matter how much we complain about it...i dont think we're ever gonna see the scrapped games! Dont quite understand why tho....i know a lot of people would go out and buy the games...it'd only fill Capcoms pockets with more money, so obviously money aint a issue here. Guess they jus wanna stay true to the game and not stray from the story line....like other games did, namely Survivor and Outbreak which were total and utter horsesh*t. Also maybe the fact that they never completed the production of the game doesnt help either...although i know that they finished 2/3 or sumthin of "Resi 1.5". I guess they jus cant be asked to go back into production to finish off the incomplete games such as the early version of Resi 4. Personally i dont think it would have been better then the Resi 4 we've got now because it doesnt seem as 'interactive' enough. It jus seems to be the same thing as previous Resi games. But dont get me wrong...in terms of atmosphere it looks fantastic, the storyline i remember vaguely....something similar to the released one where Leon has been infected by a sort of virus and its a race against time to find the antidote before he transforms.
GimieGimieGimie January 29th, 2005, 01:39 AM Thanks for the PM RAS :D
I pmed you back, thanks!
If i ever get rich, i'll offer Capcom $10,000 for one single user licence of their RE 4 beta copy :D
I'm sure we would make some kind of arrangment :D
Btw - I miss the buff women in your avatar, she brightened up my day :D
r_a_s_10 January 29th, 2005, 01:58 AM its still the same women..jus a diff pic! but for everyones viewing pleasure i'll put the old one back up :D
i jus checked out some of the newly released vids of the beta Resi 4....that game looks so tense! It would have been the scariest game ever...no doubt bout it! Somehow i dont think $10, 000 would be enough Gimie :(
Dehcbad25 January 29th, 2005, 06:50 AM The pics of the RE4 beta reminded me of the pics for Alone in the Dark 4.
Well, then it is decided. I will finish RE 2. Unfortunately I couldn't find patches for the PC version, and I don't want to waste precious space from the GC mem card. I will try to see if I can tweak RE2 in the PC. It runs too fast. I feel as if all zombies are Crimsom heads :p
Got too late from work today, so probably I will make a couple of hours tomorrow for RE2. Have to work on Sunday too, so I doubt I can finish it this weekend :(, but that way I can keep the emotion of RE4 :D
Man, there are so many games I want to play (and finish) and so few weekends :p

Buy another memory card your cheap bastard! :D
Dehcbad25 January 29th, 2005, 19:08 PM Hehe. I like to play in the PC because I can keep the save files. I have been keeping the save files of every game I played since 1998 (I lost most in a HDD crash thought)
I already have 2 251 blocks Mem card for the GC, is not like I am so cheap either (but I am cheap :p)
bhxtyrant January 29th, 2005, 20:31 PM Today i finally unlocked the Handcannon! To those of you that do not know when playing the mercenaries mini game if you beat all stages with all characters and get all 5 star ratings (above 60,000 points) you can unlock the Handcannon for use in the normal game. Its a suped up .50 cal magnum revolver.1-2 shots kills anything including most bosses.awsome bonus :D
r_a_s_10 January 30th, 2005, 00:26 AM yeah i checked out the handcannon....fu*kkin unbelievable!! Forget the rocket launcher...this weapon is jus too much....u can upgrade it to 99.9 for firepower...in order to understand how strong that is all u have to do is compare that figure to the regular handgun's firepower which is about 1.0 :p
Once the weapon is fully upgraded u have infinite amoo for it!! U Dont need any other weapons...heck u dont even need any herbs or first aid spray cos ur more or less invincible!
What cracks me up is wen u attempt to buy it (well its free, as u unlocked it) from the merchant is goes "STRANGE-AH! What do you need that for? Goin' hunting an elephant?" in that Cockney English accent (well i think it sounds cockney)
Whats with his accent anyway??
Also i dont quite understand the story behind the merchants....like how come them ganados dont attack them merchants??
bhxtyrant January 30th, 2005, 02:39 AM Ive often wondered that myself.my guess would be perhaps they were infected and managed to cure themself without Lord sadler finding out so they are free to roam around as usual or something.eh who knows there are always weird things like that in RE games.
Dehcbad25 January 30th, 2005, 18:12 PM In one occasion I got to see a Merchant really close. Their face look even more pale than the Ganados. They have red eyes and all.
Question, since you guys played RE2. What is the difference between Original and arranged mode?
r_a_s_10 January 30th, 2005, 23:35 PM I'm not quite sure to be honest. In arranged mode on the normal difficulty setting you start of with the rocket launcher i think it was and i also think theres a possibility you have the gatling gun etc in the item box so it makes the game real easy and just kinda takes the fun away from it. In original mode you have the standard handgun and you find other items such as the shotgun located throught the game. I suggest you play original mode as its more of a challenge. Also if you're goin to play the pc version theres a little cheat which gives you infinite ammo for all weapons. If i remember correctly you simply go to the status/item screen and press Up, Up, Down, Down, Left, Right, Left, Right, Aim
Dehcbad25 January 31st, 2005, 03:43 AM well, I am playing rookie in the arranged mode. You actually start with the sub machine gun :D and have the rocket launcher and Gatling gun in the item box. I am sorry, but I will keep playing in that mode :p I have even died with those weapons (twice) :p
I want to breeze thru the game at least once, in order to get a feeling of the story, then complete RE4. I will go back later to RE2 to do it the right way later. I JUST WANT TO GO BACK TO RE4 :D
Today I tested all 4 play modes. I think that they are just difficulty levels (2 extra ones) in the following order:
Arranged Mode - Rookie
Original Mode - Easy
Original Mode - Normal
Arranged Mode - Expert
In the Expert mode you only have 1 clip. Zombies are thought to even fall, and a knife. I did not reach the precint even (I didn't pickup any items thought), but I found Brad Vickers :D
BTW, I decisted on playing RE2 on the PC. At work it plays too slow. At home I feel as the zombies fly. I might have to play using Virtual PC, and FAT32 on a 98 enviroment :p So I am playing it now on the Dreamcast :D
I should finish RE2 at least once by next weekend :D
GimieGimieGimie January 31st, 2005, 16:58 PM Heh,
RE 2/RE 3 with infinate ammo and weapons is the ONLY way to play, killing the zombies with a gattling gun just hits the spot for me :D
And actually hunting Nemesis down with the infinate rocket launcher is the best!
S.T.A.R.S... BANG! :D
I remember when i finally got the infinate rocket launcher, i was actually running around screaming for Nemesis to appear :D
I started RE 3 last night, was bored, i've clocked RE 2 far too many times, man i forgot how good RE 3 was, not as good as RE 2 was back in it's time, but it was a GEM of a game :D
Played about 3 hours, up to the clock tower :D
RE 3 Favourite Quotes
"S.T.A.R.S"...
"IF ONLY THEY HAD THE POWER TO FIGHT... ONCE THE WHEELS OF JUSTICE HAD TURNED, THERE WOULD BE NO MERCY"
"CALM DOWN LADY"
"IT'S FINALLY OVER"... BOOM! :D
Ah my good friend Neme, i've missed him :D
Dehcbad25 February 1st, 2005, 03:56 AM Which plataform do you play them GGG?
Favorite quote from RE so far I think it would be...."Eat this.....Queeny" From RE0 :p
Thought I would have loved to call the Tirant (after you get the rocket launcher) and say " HEY...YOU..." :D

Use to play the games on the PlayStation One, but now i have every copy of RE on the Game Cube :D
I bought them all to keep up with the times.
The controller is so ****ing annoying compared to the PS2 joypad, but i can live with it for the sake of better graphics :D
r_a_s_10 February 1st, 2005, 11:10 AM lol...controller aint that bad. i think its decent for the resi games. I personally dont think Resi 4 will come out feeling right on the PS2 cos the game is based around the GC pad e.g hitting L&R during cut scenes etc wont hav the same appeal on a PS2 pad. I guess Capcom noticed the GC pad was shit and worked around it to their benefit.
Oh as for fave Resi quote its gotta be Luis' line wen u enter the cabin after being chased by the villagers "Well, I see that the President's equipped his daughter with...ballistics too" when referring to Ashley's...erm assets :p that cracked me up real good
GimieGimieGimie February 1st, 2005, 16:42 PM Man, i just can't get along with the contoller, it isn't percise feeling, it's so big and clumsy :p
I think PS2 joypad is the best in the world, and nothing can beat it, they have reached perfection! :D
P.S. Metal Gear Solid - The Twin Snakes was a BIATCH to play on the Game Cube controller, had such a hard time with that :(
Dehcbad25 February 1st, 2005, 18:05 PM GC are the smallest controller. I didn't understand why you say it is so big. Buttons are big, but because it is inclined toward kids. Anyhow..
Yes, I love that quote too. I had forgotten about it, but I actually played that part 3 times because of that (I wanted to make sure I hard it well)

Hmmm,
Is the standard original Game Cube controller the same around the world or did they make a smaller version?
Because my controllers are FAR from being decribed as small! :p
I know that X-BOX made a big ass controller at first, but then was forced to create a smaller, sexier version because the hands of japanese people, and indeed a lot of other people we're too small :p
What's going on!? :D
r_a_s_10 February 2nd, 2005, 00:07 AM any of u lot have $10, 000 to spare?? mind lending it to me (i'll pay u back, honest) cos i was interested in buying this :p

Dehcbad25 April 2nd, 2005, 04:15 AM I Finally finished RE2 :p The 4 endings (In the DC)
Weird thought, the second series overwrite the first series extra......
Anyhow, now I have the story, and I can continue with RE4. I advanced a little, but still I haven't pass chapter 3 (I am after the goliath)
Does the quantity of continue used matter to unlock things? So far I haven't used a single continue. I am thinking about first finishing the game, then replay it to unlock things.
Weekend ahead, maybe I will reach 4 chp :p
GimieGimieGimie April 2nd, 2005, 17:09 PM Completed RE 4 last weekend, only took me 14 hours on "normal", shit easy game, was quite fun, but certainly isn't RE, it's Metal Gear Solid 2 on zombie crack.
I was happy with the game, and disappointed at the same time, i would much rather have preferred the scrapped version of RE, but nevermind.
I'll write a full game review on it later on in the week :D
r_a_s_10 April 3rd, 2005, 03:12 AM its been a while since i've played RE4 but i dont think it matters how many continues u hav actually. Most of the unlocking is done in The Mercenaries and Assignment Ada bonus games which become availabe after u complete the game.
btw i agree wit RE4 being anything like MGS2 wit zombies....its not really about espionage but yeah it is unlike conventional Resi games as its just an action fest and not much in terms of suspense like the old Resi's. The only real suspense is tryna stay alive wit all them villagers and robed men after u. still a gr8 game tho. playin Cold Fear at the mo....a lil like Resi but on a boat...but it obviously cant compare to it.
Been playin MGS3 (only came out in the UK bout a month ago)...gr8 game wit a gr8 story line...i heard theres a rumour about another remake of Twin Snakes coming to the GC this time being produced by Konami rather than Silicon Knights...what's the point why not jus remake the 2 MGS that came out before the version that came out in 98 cos a lot of us didnt get a chance to play the early editions plus it'd help wit understand the MGS story better....
I've changed my mind about Resi 4 being my game of the year...i think it'll have to be the upcoming Zelda game on the GC..the trailers look simply stunning
check them out at:

l0k0 April 3rd, 2005, 23:53 PM does anyone here have the beta version of Biohazard 2? Resident Evil 2?
r_a_s_10 April 4th, 2005, 00:29 AM is the beta version even available??????
l0k0 April 12th, 2005, 02:43 AM yup is out there .... the game was completly different from the release one ..looks cooler... :D one of the main characters was a blonde girl named Elza Walker instead of CLaire Redfield ( Chris Sis )
Dehcbad25 June 24th, 2005, 00:39 AM UPdate
I finished the game LONG TIME AGO. Took me about 20 hours. It was easier than other games because it is a lot more stright forward, but it is filled with action and the game play switches a lot. I love chapter 5-2 since there is a lot of changes
And the Mercenaries, I find it DIFFICULT :p
