Just wondering if any of you play a musical instrument.
I've been playing the drums since i was about 11. I was in a semi-pro 3 piece band from '79 - '85 then gave it up and sold the kit, although i have managed to play a few jammin' sessions since then on borrowed kits. Drummin' is in my blood.
The company i work for is putting together a band for a small xmas gig, which may possibly lead to further opportunities,so i volunteered my services and splashed out on a new kit. (the neighbours were pleased  )

I don't play any instrument either 'cause I don't have time to take lessons. I'd love to learn how to play the electric guitar and drums. Perhaps Rev and egghead can help me out :D

I "did" play bass (upright and electric), guitar, and mandolin. Now I'm playing the resonator steel guitar (dobro) until my hand gets better.

I could play some very basic piano. Lack of practice took me back to only be able to play Happy Birthday again :p
I could play N5, and some other nice pieces, but I learn from memory. I love the sound of piano, but it takes ages to play well. I am interested in learning guitar. I always thought it was a good way to impress girls, now I can impress my wife instead :D

My son actually is the "musician" in the family. Although I played piano WAAAYYYY long ago, now all I play is the radio. ;) My son plays drums and has played in a garage band for about 1 1/2 - 2 years now. I think they do pretty well. They play mostly newer stuff, Pixies, Weezer, Toadies, and the like. If/when I get a decent video clip of them I'll try to post it somewhere so you fellas can decide for yourselves.

I played the clairnet thru elementary school til 2nd yr in high school but they got rid of the orchrasta and went to marching band so I ditched it. I loved playing classical and jazzy stuff. My oldest daughter played for a few yrs. but gotta say it doesnt come natural like the skin flute though. I have to read sheet music to bust out. but Lynch taught me that instrument since hes a master. I even heard he can play it with both hands.
hey we should all record some crap and since I heard egg would mix it for us ;) would be pretty funny to see what kinda NOISE tz could come up with. We could annoy people from all parts of the world at once.

Well my musical expertise is fairly limited. I used to play guitar quite a few years ago. Mainly spanish/classical guitar. Still got my baby acoustic hanging on my wall.
Through school I played the trumpet, but only for 2-3 years. Gave that up a long time ago.

Rik blowin' in through the out pipe - while BB blowin' a C flat, DEH singing off key - accompanied by piano, Piper on the bonaphone, Reverend bangin" on some trashcans, Egghead playing heavy metal, rohitkumar and hotmale playing air guitar, petard on steel guitar, Phishhead on clar...no recorder, and lynchknot gurgling in the background vocals? Should make an interesting album. :p

When you take lessons be careful who theyre from. I took guitar lessons for about 6-9 months (my memory isnt as good as it used to be), the tutor-guy was a turd, watched WWE (wrestling) during classes and I ended with a knowledge of Happy B'day, Twinkle twinkle, etc and some telugu(indian) folk songs - and ALL without learning the chords!
