sound problems!!

Hi,everytime i play audio files via windows media,real player etc it tends to skip,freeze or just have a crackling noise!! Can anybody please help??

What are your system specifications ? have you changed anything lately ?

First of all I would check all your speaker cables and make sure that they are plugged in properly and that no power cables are crossing over them.

If that doesn't sort it then it may be a case of checking the manufacturer sites for both the motherboard and the sound card to see if there have been any problems like this reported.
