This site is the aladins cave of the technology world, it rocks.

I was google searching for a programme to open tga files and found this site. I went to a link that allowed me to download software i order to preview tga files in explorer, which is great, and works cheers The Journeyman.

But im still left with the problem of what do I open them in. This only gives the thumbnails, but i need the actual programme, can you advise on any? :)

You can use Photoshop, Paintshop, or even the GIMP AFAIK.

They should be able to handle .TGA files.

The GIMP is free, works in Windows and Linux. And opens the following file types:

File formats supported include gif, jpg, png, xpm, tiff, tga, mpeg, ps, pdf, pcx, bmp, and many others.

You can get it at the link below:

http://www.gimp.org/

With the GIMP you can edit, view, add to, crop and use 1000s of different other tools with all sorts of image files.

Hope that helps and welcome to TZ.

And the thread I believe he saw was:

You can open it with Free IrfanView (http://www.irfanview.com/) and you can convert it to a more useful format if you want.
