View Full Version : Warning - H5N1 Type A Influenza Pandemic Likely Coming

The World Health Organization (WHO) has raised the specter of human-to-human transmission of deadly H5N1 avian influenza following confirmation that two Vietnamese brothers had contracted the virus and one had died. WHO confirmed that laboratory results had found the two brothers from northern Vietnam had been infected with the H5N1 avian influenza virus. According to WHO, "All evidence to date suggests that isolated instances of limited, unsustained human-to-human transmission can be expected from avian influenza viruses in humans." Seven of Vietnam's total 27 H5N1-related human deaths have occurred in the last three weeks (first 3 weeks of January 2005).

I feel for the people who get this disease.. and those living around them. I won't be flying for a while in SE Asia..

eww dude... that's something I'll not to think about too often...
But what is it about all these new disesases and stuff, a few years ago it was the SARS epidemic, and now a potential H5N1 crisis... is it time for a new black plague for the world... like every 1000yrs :(

They say this thing could wipe out Millions of people very easily since there is no cure at present and that is why they culled millions of the birds with the hope that they could prevent the bird flu from spreding and save the rest. Now that this thing has spread human to human it might be time to stay close to family. The sars thing was big here in vancouver and on my way to work on the train i would see dozens of people sneeze spray everywhere and I just went geez:)
I even got to the point where i would shout to some people to cover their faces when they sneeze.
I saw this one guy sneeze a huge spray into the back of this guys hair. I felt so grossed out after that hahyahaha
