Hi Again guys, more probs :o(

This time ita a sound issue.

The sound has a clicking sound similar to a needle jumping on a old style viynl record. I dont seem to get it in Media Player but i get it in games and Winamp.

It seems to occur on most sounds including windows sounds sometime such as the click on browser or the opening sound on boot up.

Tried movin speakers

New equipment is a router (cant see it been that?)

What PCI slot is the sound card in ?

Look in System Information> Hardware Resources and make sure its not sharing a IRQ with something else. If it is move the card to another PCI slot, I think slot 3 is the best in that MB.

Disable all unused onboard device settings in your bios to free up IRQ's

When music is playing jiggle the sound cables and connectors around to make sure that part is ok.

Are you over clocking ? if you are, did you set the AGP/PCI lock to 66 ?

Just a thought,

Try evening out the volume balance on Windows Control Panel Volume and the Physical Speaker Volume

Sometimes you hear hissing or cracking if the speakers are MAX and windows is set MIN and visa versa.
