Bet that Bill Gates missing sleep.I doubt it. $5.2 million,thats his earnings per hour. Just pocket money to him.

I think this is more good for LA than bad for Microsoft. But there will be some costs in going open source, but they are far less than sticking with proprietary software from MS.

YOu see this trend to open source. I think it is just good for the open source community. The more using it, the more likely it will get only better.

If a city the size of LA can obtain the kind of savings discussed in the article, many other cities may investigate how much they could save. It has happened in several cities in Europe. All of them have money issues.

I think that I will send a copy of this article to my local government.:rolleyes:
