New Comp Sorta

I just finished installing a new motherboard and a new processor. iv got everything together and when i turn on my computer my monitor never fully turns on. the LED on the monitor flashes but no picture. Also about 20 seconds after startup my computer shuts off by itself. PLEASE HELP!

-P4 3.2 LGA 775 processor
-ASUS P5P 800 mobo
-550 Watt power supply
-1024mb of Kingston RAM
-200 GB Western Digital hard drive
-ATI RADEON 9600xt graphics card

Recheck all of your power switch connections.Make sure the polarity(+-)are where they should be. :D

if the little arrows on the tinny black connectors means + then everything is fine

I had the same picture problem a long time ago. The yellow light on the monitor (CRT) would never change to green and there wasnt any picture. The technician said it was a RAM problem and it worked after he replaced it. Is the onboard display OK?

good news, i fixed the problem with it shutting down by itself caused 99.0% sure because of chasis cabble in opposite way :P But still cant get any picture on the screen, il take ur advice and try some new RAM.

you could try reseating the video card as well.

i dont think its a video card thing cause the fan spins on it when i trun on the comp
