faster download speeds

hi all, i just received a message from comcast that i now have higher d/l speeds available to me simply by shutting off my cable modem, unplugging it and waiting two minutes, then hook it back up again. they claim that the speed available now is 3 mb/s and it will increase to 4 mb/s. what i want to do is check my d/l speed prior to doing this, just so i can see if this is really happening. does anyone have a site i can go to and check my d/l speed? tx in advance for the info. ~s

hey, tx for the links...i used to have pcpitstop on my old hdd but when i loaded this new one, i didn't bring it over. i did a d/l run and it was already at 4.1 mb/s so i assume i won't gain anything by reloading the modem. the test says i'm already faster than a t1 line so, i'm happy enuf now. tx again. ~s
