Hello. Since changing hosts, my site at google has not been listed. There is a "redirect" (old site) on the second page: http://www.google.com/search?q=firefox+themes&hl=en&lr=&client=firefox&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:unofficial&start=10&sa=N
but nothing after that. Can someone tell me what I am not doing correctly or whatever.........

there are sites linking to it - my sig in fact. The change was when I changed the look of my page - many months ago.

It shows here though: http://www.google.com/search?q=lynchknot&sourceid=mozilla-search&start=0&start=0&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&client=firefox&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:unofficial

Yahoo has it in it's near usual spot: http://search.yahoo.com/search?ei=UTF-8&fr=sfp&p=firefox+themes

My guess is that you need to report the change to all of the sites that had links to your old site. Even though Google's ranking methods are closely held secrets, I have always found that people accessing your site from another, have a big impact on your ranking.

Don't know if you can still do it, but you should try the search to find out just who has linked to your old site.

The query link:siteURL shows you pages that point to that URL.

There are only 8 sites linking to my old site now: http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&lr=&client=firefox&rls=org.mozilla%3Aen-US%3Aunofficial&q=link%3Ahttp%3A%2F%2Fhome.comcast.net%2F%7Elynchknot%2F&btnG=Search

and 212 (mostly my homeboards) for new site: http://www.google.com/search?q=link:http://www.lynchknot.com&hl=en&lr=&client=firefox&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:unofficial&start=10&sa=N

but still no listing under firefox themes :(

perhaps it's because of my start page? not much text info so google thinks it's not worthy?

Yes Reverend, It shows here under "lynchknot": http://www.google.com/search?q=lynchknot&sourceid=mozilla-search&start=0&start=0&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&client=firefox&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:unofficial

but not under "firefox themes" (like it does with yahoo or like it used to with google)

site also shows PageRank at "4" - whatever that means.

How come the number one spot at "firefox themes" does not even have a page rank? - https://addons.update.mozilla.org/themes/?os=Windows&application=firefox

I don't really care about page rank though - i'm just concerned my page is not listed at all! (under firefox themes)

could you add meta tags and metadata such as keywords and description etc to your site pages? is that what you mean?

I use that:
<title>FireFox themes - Lynchknot</title><meta http-equiv="content-type" content="text/html; charset=iso-8859-1">
<meta name="description" content="Lynchknot's Mozilla Firefox/Firebird/Phoenix themes and skins">
<meta name="keywords" content="Mozilla Firefox themes, Mozilla Thunderbird themes, K-Meleon themes">
<meta name="author" content="Lynchknot">

I'm saying the "splash" page does not have much information content - perhaps google spiders view it as an insignificant site.
