When trying to download an mp3 I get a message that I have to allow an Active X control to install first (from Internet Search Technologies, whoever they are).

Is this safe? What does this Active X Control do? Can I uninstall it later?

IE won't let me download unless I download this Active X control first.

Your feedback is appreciated
Thank you

Halder could you PM me the link ? Active X can be dangerous and I want to see why you need that for MP3's.

Thanks

Hmm I wouldn't get any MP3's from that site, wants to install ActiveX that has nothing to do with the MP3 :(

Any time something wants ActiveX Google is your buddy, here's the free MP3's http://www.doxdesk.com/parasite/WildMedia.html guess they aren't free :)

Thanks FastGame, now in terms of free Music downloads, are there any sites out there that you would recommend.

ISTBar is one of the worst and most pervasive spyware adware programs which installs a BHO and a toobar. Succintly - it sucks, and it's usual method of getting on your PC is exactly what you are describing in your post. It may also install other adwares if you allow it to run - don't.

This should give you a clue - http://www.doxdesk.com/parasite/ISTbar.html especially note that it can and will download and run arbitrary unsigned code.
