Have you tried this:
Go to Start > run and type in regsvr32 urlmon.dll and hit enter.(make sure you leave a space between regsvr32 and urlmon.dll )
When you receive the "DllRegisterServer in urlmon.dll succeeded" message, hit OK.
You might need to reboot first for the links to start working.

That is one heck of an undocumented procedure. How did you find it?

Have you scanned your machine for viruses, spyware, etc.
Have you tried restoring defaults. Tools > Internet Options > Advanced tab. Click Restore Defaults button.
That is one heck of an undocumented procedure. How did you find it?Its a common fix, mainly for links that won't open in OE
