My system Restore hasn't worked the last 3 occasions I tried to use it.

In my experience System Restore is always a bit flaky, it works until you need it then hey presto it fails! I wouldn't rely solely on it and would recommend an alternate solution like manually backing up the system state data(at least), it's just too unreliable.
