Is it a regular floppy disk or a memory disk? I've seen this happen when disks were going bad or when the read heads on the floppy drive are misaligned and not able to read all disks.

Memory cards used by digital camera's and some cellphones.

I was speaking of the small memory cards used in some devices. So this is a normal 3.5" 1.44 mb floppy disk. ok, can you try another in the camera and see if after taking a couple of pics it can then be read in the computer.

Then your floppy drive may need to be swapped out. Sounds like the heads are misaligned.

Thats been a really common problem with floppies for me. I havent found any solution to it. I just end up using a new(er) floppy.

Floppies are notorious for going bad no matter how old or new.

My suggestion:

Floppy drives retail for around $10; I'd buy one without any hesitation. Relative to the time you can spend trouble-shooting, the low cost of these drives easily justifies taking a "chance" and seeing if it eliminates the problem. Good luck.

Well, It was software related. It works after running True Image. Anyway check out the dust and suction the CPU fan draws. It could hold a sheet of paper the size of the computer or larger. I have to pry the paper off with a screwdriver and use a pair of plyers
