Can't delete a file in Windows XP

After even a restart i can't seem to delete a file.

When i press delete, the computer (after a while) says the file is in use somewhere and can't delete the file. (The file is a media player file)

Should i try to go into safe mode and try to delete it there or can i fiddle around the registry to see to what program don't seem to leave this program alone!

Any help will be much appreciated!

Cool, i went to command prompt and deleted the file there. Worked like a charm
