Many are dissappointed when starting Vista Beta 1 and not seeing all the promised eye candy (transparency and such). With the transparency showing in the screenshots (http://board.msbetas.org/index.php?act=module&module=gallery&cmd=sc&cat=20), many are asking how to get these effects?

First thing you need is a video card that supports DirectX 9, if yours doesn't, you can stop reading here. For the rest with DX9 support: you need the right drivers!

You will need a driver that supports the Longhorn Driver Display Model (LDDM) – the Microsoft Vista revolutionary graphic driver standard. Today, both ATI and nVidia have realeased beta drivers for Windows Vista Beta 1 with support for LDDM.

Get the drivers now!

Brilliant thanks. I have a decent graphics card but the stupid longhorn drivers made the refresh rate low and gave me headaches...
