play button?? on cd drive

Hey there today I inserted a music mp3 cd in my dvd drive and it worked fine and all but then i just wanted to try to play it without any media player but by pressing the play button that on the dcd drive. But it did not work, have any idea why it did not work properly???

it might work if you plug headphoners into the drive

i actualy had hop for the first line u wrote,
but for the j/k part I was desapoited, i wasnt expecting it from u, thats ashme...

I have old drives with headphone out plugs.

I always thought that was what the play button was of

well that play button also works just like that wihout any headphone, it already worked for me, it just doesnt work now :)..i mean :(

Hmm if i remember corectly i thought the play button would just start playing the CD using the old "cd player" tool in windows 95/98 :p i had alot of these old drives and thats what they used to do for me.I did notice they usually dont work on the newer O/S

wait, i think u got it wrong. Its a windows XP that I have and I got a DVD drive wich i used 2 put music in and I just played it with the play button on the tower and it worked but not anymore.
