A couple in Texas decided to build their own Submarine so that they could see what was lurking on the bottom of Lake Travis.
They made a site and detailed their journey of building the sub. They used a lathe, blow torch, plasma torch and a host of other tools to construct their 4000lb/1800kg sub.

The only thing is the site hasn't been updated since 2004.... I wished they'd have posted their final project up. Would have been nice to see this sub in action.
