The only negative I see about this is the sound of the machine. Most commercial PVRs are silent... a PC sounds quite loud in comparison.

I didnt understand much, but basicaly the guy could watch tv from his pc by connecting his tv cable 2 the pc, rite?

He built a PVR. He can record his TV shows onto his PC, watch TV, view the internet, and so on.

MythTV allows your computer to function as a PVR in a very simple way. PVR means Personal Video Recorder.
