Help, Making a computer student proof

Does anybody know of any software that will prevent people from changing shortcut icons or the desktop background, while also preventing people from installing anything or changing any settings.

This must work for windows 2000. Freeware or shareware preferable. These computers are not on a network so things like group policies etc. are not options.

ok thanks i'll try that, also does anyone know of any shareware of freeware that can be used for ghosting a hard drive. I have found a few utils but i dont know how good they are and I would like recommendations

Set the "C" drive as READ ONLY!
