Below is a portion of a letter in the August issue of PC World.
"...computer was attacked by an adware program that eluded removal and hampered my PC. Because the company that developed the program got its revenue from advertisers and promoted its services, I identified this firm and sent a demand for removal software and compensation for my costs. When my demands were not met, I filed a small-claims suit. Just prior to the hearing date, the company settled for what I asked...."
