The easy way to add quick search bookmarks in Firefox:
http://img449.imageshack.us/img449/6841/addkeyword6qc.png (http://imageshack.us)
(Right-click inside the search field and selct 'add a keyword for this search...')
The usual method is to search for something ans use the quick search url from the address bar.
http://www.google.com/search?q=%s
This doesnt work with sites like http://www.answers.com/ for Firefox 1.0.x with the QS url not shown in the url bar(?)
http://www.answers.com/main/ntquery?s=%s&gwp=8
Link: Web accessories (includes quick-search) for IE 5.x (http://www.microsoft.com/windows/ie/previous/webaccess/ie5wa.mspx) (not 6.x)
