horizontal lines on laptop display screen

I have a Dell Inspiron 1000 laptop and it has horizontal lines on the display that make it unreadable. I have tried to install the latest drivers and roll back the settings to the default by going into bios but it is still blurry. In the past by fooling around with it I have got it to display normally but have not been able to in a couple of days

If you still have a support contract then call their support for help. The display cable from the LCD to the motherboard may just need to be reseated, or it's possible that the LCD itself has a problem.
