Hi

When I run AVG anti-virus checker, it comes up with reading errors for Partition table (MBR) and Boot sector of disk. AVG used to be able to read it...

Does this mean something nasty has happened to my hard drive? If so, can anyone help please.

Thanks!

LB

Are you certain that AVG could read those items previously?

I think I would have noticed if it didn't because they are the first two items it tries to check.. also it used to take a lot longer to run AVG (about 1.5 hours, now it's about an hour), so if it could read more, wouldn't it take longer?

I ask because when I run my AV (Nod32), it can't check those either. I presume it's because they are in use but I'm really not sure.

Ah.. ok, maybe it's not too bad then. Nortons doesn't come up with any reading errors.
