gmail invitation request

I can't believe this service isn't open to the general public, what a joke!

Can anyone who already has a google e-mail account be kind enough to hand me a olive branch and send an invitation to this service my way to pauls_mail3@yahoo.com? :D

After many years of being with some form of ISP pop3 account, i suddenly find myself stuck with web based e-mail and it sucks!

I heard that gmail comes with pop3 access as standard without the need for any go-between programs, which i never knew before! so if someone has a spare invitation, have a heart for those who are less fortunate then yourself and help a poor man out ;)

create an email from hotmail or yahoo or whatever and send an email to your gmail account. you should see the options "invite to gmail" or something. I believe you get 5 invites per account

I am just confused to why they decided to offer a brand new inventive e-mail service on an invite only basis (i know it was open at first but still) that just buffles me, it took me 2 days asking around before i decided to plea here, what a pain, glad the nightmare is over :p

If you still have invites, could you send one my way? I've been trying to get around the mobile phone request option. Not because I want to evade, but because my carrier won't let the text message through. :mad: I thought about having it sent to someone else's phone, but deep in the heart of US Cellular country, I don't know anyone on any other carrier to have the text sent to. Nice when using Mobile to Mobile though.

On another note, i have only 56k net access at the mo, f**k up with my broadband company which has left me without normal service for 2 weeks now.
