Hi, one of our remote users as of a week agon cannot log into out VPN.

The user has XP home, logged in as admin. 3 other users in his office are able to log in without problems. I created another profile and recreated the vpn connection with no luck. The user is able to browse the internet and send and recive email with no problems. the vpn error: is "error 721 remote computer does not respond". Does anyone have any suggeations on what else I can try?

Does he connect to the internet via a dialup modem or broadband?

All pc's in the office connect via broadband. Partial T1

But are you using a software firewall on the system? If so make sure the VPN connection isn't blocked.

Also as an after thought, try flushing the DNS cache if you haven't already.

would it be just running: ipconfig /flushdns on the problem pc?
