Maybe can someone help me ?

Let see if I can explain this correctly, I have a silver and black mouse that has the "GE" (General Electric) logo on it.

The mouse has Two (2) Normal Buttons and a Button next to where my thumb is, and one of the opposite side. There is also a Wheel that can be used as a button.

It is a PS/2 mouse (not a USB coverted to PS/2).

The Tag on the bottom of the mouse says: Optical Mouse WK4903 Made in China.

No matter how I search, I cannot seem to be able to locate the drivers for this mouse. I use it in my work, and am very used to it.

I had a system crash, and lost the driver.

Is it possible someone might be able to find the correct driver for me?

Do you have the box it came in? We might need the exact model number. Google doesn't give too many results for this string: "GE+Optical Mouse WK4903".

Here's the DriverGuide.com link to all the GE mouse drivers in their database (http://members.driverguide.com/index.php?companyid=2568&devicetypeid=9&action=wizard_step_3&company=2568&Submit=%A0%A0SELECT+COMPANY%A0%3E%3E%A0%A0).

Hi Denyse,I found that the WK4903 is the same as the GE scroll 98800 which is listed in Rohitk89 's link. Here is the exact page, but you will need to sign up free to the driverguide site.http://members.driverguide.com/driver/detail.php?driverid=389631:D

Thank you so much. I have an account there, but not knowing that the 98800 was the same it did not help.http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v294/DOCOM/Smilies/kiss.gif

Thanks for the err kissie my dear.Have you tried the 98802(for optical).I may have made a mistake because the 98800 is a scroll and your's is an optical.Try,it can't hurt.BTW what functions are not working with the native XP drivers?http://www.jascoproducts.com/cgi-local/SoftCart.exe/online-store/scstore/go/computer_software_mice.html?E+scstore:D

Okay, to understand which driver you need, we have to first know the exact specifications of your mouse. I suggest you download PC Wizard (http://www.cpuid.com/pcwizard.php) and see the model number and other info about your mouse. Then you can search with that info in Google or post it here and we will help you out :)

The actual Manufacture of the mouse will be Jasco (a subdivision of GE i believe).

Here is a list of the drivers that they have available on their site:
http://www.jascoproducts.com/cgi-local/SoftCart.exe/online-store/scstore/go/computer_software_mice.html?E+scstore

Looking at the model numbers, they all start with a 'HO', is there a number on the bottom of the mouse that looks like that?

A search for Jasco WK4903 come up nil.

I know, an e-mail to Jasco Customer service got a reply that I had to be wrong there was no such part number. I then replied with a High-Res Photo of the mouse and the tag, and got back a message that basicly said, they could not help me.

I will try for another day or so, and then just go get a new one. When I asked, I had no idea it would be so much trouble, and waste so many people's time... to which I am sorry.

:whs: Along with others,I am still curious as to why your mouse does not work with the native XP drivers and if special drivers were made why can't anyone find them.If you end up getting a new mouse you can always cut the cord off and use it as a paper weight.:D

I spoke with a very nice person at Jasco this morning. I was told, that if I would send them the Mouse and if possible the data sheet (which I have); I would be sent a new Current model; via overnight delivery.

I put it in the mail today, via Express Mail Overnight.

And now I will just wait.

Thanks to ALL that tried to help in anyway.

Great!!! But one mystery remains, if the mouse was of GE, why was there no driver support???

I am sure it is because some "bozo" forgot to put another sticker on the mouse. I will know more when the otherone arrives. I will head down the drive to the mailbox in an hour or so.

I got a brand new 5 button mouse, with "2" CD's the note said, I should put the CD's away (after I install the driver) in two different places (there was a smilie face). I was told they were very sorry for my problems, and I would get an e-mail in a few days as to their determination of the problem.

ok so i have one of those mouses also. is there any way you could make those drivers available? I got this mouse from a friend not sure where he got it from. I have windows xp and it works with the standard mouse driver (including the whee) but I am looking for a driver that enables you to configure the side buttons to do something, hoping for a double click option.

I am still waiting for their email as to why their updated driver does not work.

As to the side, buttons, I have no idea, if I can ever find the correct model number for that stupid rodent I will share it.

You probably will not find drivers to make those buttons work under any Linux distro.
