This is what im working with below. Oh and i tried accessing the web with out a firewall, antivirus and spyware programs. I even uninstalled my zonealarm and am running Microsofts firewall.
System: Windows XP Pro 2002, Service pack 2
PC: Pentium 4 CPU 2.8 GHZ----1.00GB corsica Ram
Marvell Yukon Gigabit Ethernet 10/100/1000Base-T Adapter, Copper RJ-45
200gb harddrive
I have a problem with my internet connection, it will only let me access the internet if i start windows in safe mode.
I called my provider comcast, but they are useless, and kept having me power cyle my modem and turning my pc on and off.
The local connection says that it is limited or unable to connect, here is what i tried so far.
1. I cheked my comcast connection. I ran an the ethernet cable from the modem directly to my xbox 360 and was able to play xbox live online, so the modem and signal from comcast is working.
2. Checked the the ethernet cable going to the Network card
3. I tried repairing the Connection by going to control panel/network connections/properties/support
4. I repaired my network cards drives and had the same problem
5. I uninstalled the network card drivers and reinstalled them, this did nothing
6. I system restored the PC to three days ago when it was working fine, and still same problem

I am in Safe mode. I am currently running only the Microsoft security firewall
I did the following in safe mode
Then Start: Run: CMD (and press ENTER)
Then type:
IPCONFIG /release (press ENTER)
IPCONFIG /renew (press enter... and wait about 30 seconds)
IPCONFIG (press ENTER)
I then rebooted and went into to windows normally I ran the following commands
C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator.KONGS-PC.000>IPCONFIG/release
Windows IP Configuration
Ethernet adapter Local Area Connection:

I was unable to access the internet. Next, i uninstalled zonealarm and disabled my spyware, and Antivirus programs and i was still unable to access the internet. The results entering the commands gave me the same results with and without running a firewall, antivirus and the spyware programs.
In safe mode this is what i got when entering the following commands

Again when in safe mode I am able to access the internet. I am not able to access the internet when I log into windows normally. I tried the above with no success.

*Removed your IP address for your protection*
Are there other user accts on your system, and if so does it work correctly in those? If not create another account and try it there.
