View Full Version : Wii -- Crappy or Cool? Big Booger May 14th, 2006, 09:28 AM What do you all think about the new Nintendo Wii name? Is it better or worse than Revolution? I have mixed feelings about it.... but I cannot wait to try out the new controller. The company announced that their new machine, Wii, would not exceed $250 in America. Nintendo also said it plans to ship 6 million systems between its launch in the fourth quarter of 2006 and the end of its fiscal year in March 2007. Earlier this month at the Electronics Entertainment Expo, Sony said their upcoming Playstation 3 console would debut in two versions priced at $499 and $599 in November. It doesn't really mean anything and it kind of sounds silly. I think the console looks pretty good, but their design decisions have made the multiplatform games a little less likely to be ported, because the control design is so radically different. Many companies have relied on being able to release a game on PC, XBox, PS2 and GC to cover costs, the Wii seems to have moved itself out of this market to some degree. I don't know if I'd buy it as a primary console, but it would certainly be a fun secondary console if it weren't too expensive. I'd be waiting a while before buying it.
