I need to buy a 100 ft. lenght of cable to run from my router to another computer. The Cat 6 cable is about $14 versus the Cat5E cable of $7 plus shipping. Would there be any difference in speed versus the two cable ?

I have a similar setup. I have one run of Cat5E inside plastic pipe from my house to a trailer near the house. The run is 85' long. The Cat5e works fine but there is some degradation in speed for that remote connection. I can't guarantee that the Cat6 will prevent a speed reduction, but $7 is a cheap price to pay for insurance.

Thanks for the reply, efc. Guess I will get the Cat 6. :)
