Hello Fellas,

Back again with another stupid problem, its probably me and a "setting" somewhere.

Any music I burn doesn't play in my car CD player. I'm burning MP3's so I know that for sure at least. Now, it worked before with the same programs used.....not sure why. The player plays OLD CD's I've burned and plays every other "purchased" CD.

Am I doing something wrong? I've used Nero, Alchohol, and other burning programs thinking its them. Is it my burner? Do y'all use a different program that I don't have????

Thanks,
Sharon

Hello Rik, I've missed you! :p

Yep, it's played in the past, all cd's I've burned, but now, it's being rebellious!

As we speak, DH is burning a song from Hinder he just downloaded, something about "sex being better when you're mad at me," (hey, is he trying to tell me something???? )

Anyway, this is a fresh install of XP with Cyberlink Powerstarter (4 cute little cubes that look like baby blocks) to burn with on my new laptop.

He just came in and said it won't play........

Hey, is that a good excuse to buy a new one????? :D

Have you tried a different brand of CD?

Are your previously burned CD's in Mp3 format or did you convert them during the burn process?

do you know the model of the car stereo? I think like rev said you need to convert them to cda (or audio format) format so it will play in most cd players.

Thanks guys!

Is there a program that will convert them to a cda? Nero and this new cyberlink thingy is as far as I've gone. I did look in properties/preferences of Nero, however, I'm easily confused with this stuff.

Thanks,
Sharon

at the first screen that pops up if you click on audio cd on the left then next...after that you just add the mp3's that you want and it will convert them to Cda on the fly then it will burn it.

Sounds like you were 'unknowingly' converting mp3 files into normal CD files during the burning process...

How many songs could u normally fit onto the cd... if around 20 or so, then u've converted... if closer to 100-200 songs, then its in MP3 format ;)

Since you don't seem to recall any changes on the software side, have you started using rewritable CDs? I couldn't get CD-RWs to play in my player, but when I tried regular CD-Rs, they worked.
