Hotswap to Regular Scsi Conversion?

Sorry for confusing title but i am confused. Thanks for the help.
I have the following:
qty.
1 - pci scsi adapter adaptec aha-2940lw (http://www.adaptec.com/en-US/support/scsi/2940/AHA-2940/)

3 - ST-336706LW Ultra160 SCSI Wide hotswap drives.

They are salvage parts from an old server, how can i make the proper pin conversion to install them in another machine using the pci adapter.
Any info or guides will be appreicated. thanks

EDIT: I believe that adapter cannot work with those hard drives since the adapter is fast-scsi. I also have the following:
american megatrends series 475, SCSI LVD/SE
on the hard drives it actually notes "Scsi SE/LVD Connector" near the jumper settings illustration.

But it is a bit pricey.

Perhaps someone else can point you to a better way, but AFAIK your adapter doesn't look suited to those drives... However I am not too familiar with SCSI so mayhap someone else can better explain or offer a more fruitful reply.

You need SCA to 68 pin adapters try search on ebay http://search.ebay.com/sca-adapter. However 2940 card is UltraWide2 LV while your drives are Ultra 160 so you won't get best performance from the drives, I think U2 has maximum burst speed of 80Mb/s whereas U160 has (obviously) 160 Mb/s. The same adapters will work with a U160 card if you can find one.

i would use this with american megatrends correct..since my adaptec card only supports FastScsi

im on wiki right now trying to make sense of this, i have knowledge in hardware but very little on scsi interface...thanks again

I have actually used one of those to run a sca drive on a 2940 card. SCSI isn't so difficult you just want to be sure of your numbers and terminations, and with hard disks whether thay are auto spun. Hard disks are typically used on SCSI id 0,1,2. Look at the hard disk jumpers to see whether it includes auto-term and auto spin-up. If it is a bootable HDD set it to id0. With sca drives you may have to set these options on the adapter rather than the drive, you are better plugging it in and trying different combinations than trying to work it out in your head. Try some settings and if it doesn't work adjust one of them - most problems are from termination, you will feel/hear if it does not spin up.
