I just purchased a LED monitor and I am wondering how I clean the screen. On my old CRT monitor I would just spray some windex on a paper towel and wipe away.

Thanks

To clean the LCD:

1. Turn off the computer or display. You may need to turn off the computer in order to turn off some Apple displays.
2. Dampen a clean, soft, lint-free cloth or paper with water only.
3. Wipe the screen. Do not spray liquid directly on the screen.

I use cheese cloth & distilled water.

Its important that you apply very light pressure on the screen when cleaning. Too much and the dust could scratch the screen, you could stretch the screen, the screen could detatch from the frame edges and cause backlite leakage.

I actually purchased covers for my LCD monitors. The covers fit over the screen using 4 velcro tabs. To clean the clear lexan covers I use window cleaner on a damp cloth and wipe dry with newspaper.

On my laptop I use some cleaner wipes that I bought at the store.

there are many cleaners available from computer stores... just make sure the cleaner is safe and designed for LCD monitors... i used some crt crappy stuff on my laptop and it left lots of sticky residue.... then got some quality LCD cleaner, and the crap was wiped away immediately!! i ended buying a whole kit for the rest of the office :)

If it just dust on the screen I use a SOFT paint brush. I use my computers almost every day so I keep the brush laying next to my key board.
