HI guys, i have an ATI Radeon PRO 128 AGP and it was working fine all along until yesterday when i was play 3d game, the graphic became very snowy. Please Help.

I just found out somthing, when I am running a 3d application, the desktop went snowy as well. I did check the heat sink and it's burning hot, but the fan is running fine. How do i fix this? Big Booger November 28th, 2006, 00:06 AM One way would be to buy an adjustable fan that you can situation over the heat sinks to blow cool air over them. http://en.qschina.com/html/tradeinfo/html/2006/11/21/7977.html That device should allow you to position the fan in the proper place to allow maximization of cooling over the heat sinks. further I would use the ATI tool: http://www.techpowerup.com/atitool/ to check the temperature and check for artifacts. You can also check your core and memory clock speeds to make sure that the card has not been overclocked. cash_site November 28th, 2006, 00:32 AM Might have to merge the two threads of similar problems... but also, for some 3D games, it is driver or game related... i used to get massive corruptions with NFS UNdergroud, that was only fixed by newer ati drivers and the relevant game patch... but also, looking more at the overheating problems... overtime the paste between the chips and the heatsinks degrades... might be good to peel them off and put new stuff or new heatsinks too. lots of 3rd party go fast bits ;)
