Lock Symbol IE7

I hope this is the correct area to post this.........

A few weeks ago I downloaded IE7. This may be connected or not but now I don't get the lock symbol when visiting an https site like my bank for example.

Does this mean that the link is not encryped when I type in my passwords etc?

This is the same on all sites BTW
