igh Speed Data Gathering, Distribution and Analysis for Physics Discoveries at the Large Hadron Collider" achieved a peak throughput of 17.77 gigabits per second (Gbps) between clusters of servers at the show floor and at Caltech.

In 20 years, I imagine that will be peanuts in terms of speed. :) But for now, it kicks arse.

very nice speeds... i think they are trying to work on some 100Gbps technology... that will be the day :D
