Currys is to stop selling audio cassette tapes following a drop in sales of the legacy format.
Thanks to the popularity of CDs and downloads, Currys sold just 100,000 tapes last year. That compares with the 83 million tapes sold in the format's heyday in 1989.
The company also plans to stop selling music systems that include a cassette deck by Christmas 2007.
