Signature based anti malware is OK but it needs a little help in the prevention stakes. PCTools ThreatFire (formerly CyberHawk) can give some of that protection. In a default configuration it will greatly add to your defences but with a little tweaking of custom rules it can make your PC with other freeware anti-malware products a real fortress against the nasty stuff. Oh and it is freeware - very good freeware, why aren't you using it?
