Got those photo cd's and digital pictures with obscure names?
Windows XP Explorer lets you rename them in batches. Choose, highlight, the set of files you wish to rename like last years Christmas Party called ARnY44 or whatever name they have and right click on the first one, pick Rename, type a name like Christmas 2001.jpg and hit enter. Windows will rename the first file Christmas2001.jpg, the second one Christmas2001(1).jpg, the 3rd will be Christmas2001(2).jpg and so forth.
