hi:

i got an invitation to see a girl on a webcam from a .da.ru website

it was a messanger popup

the girl said hi and come to my website

i dont use messanger or outlook

i thought it might be a website but it was a real message not a webpage

how is that possible to get a message with never signing up for messanger?

i know its installed but i've never used it for anything

i see some people have seen this post

this is really what i want to know

how can someone messanger me without a messanger id
how can they contact this machine
is there a universal button to spam every xp machine on the planet
regardless if messanger is signed to an account or has never had an account?
i've never had an account and i bet its not every machine

but how come my machine?

is there some unique key they can use to page anyone's xp machine?

btw
my remote assistance is turned off
you cant request it on this machine

thanx

It sounds as if some scripting got to you. Also, unless you're anonymous your IP is available to anyone.

Try going back to where you were and see if it comes up again. Then turn scripting and or java off and see if it makes a difference.

Hi everybody! :)
I am new on this forum, I've noticed the thread and read the posts..
Has anybody a little bit of confidence with the command line?
..the old prompt of the beloved DOS?
There is a simple command that allows to send instant messages from a pc to another machine on a LAN.. You can try it with 2 pc:

from the prompt:
net send name_of_pc "message text" (without the quote)
[it works even with the name of the user]
Replacing the name of the reciver with a * sends the message to everybody on the LAN. (eh, the university.. what a good time!! :D )

Now, I never tried this with an IP... but it could work...
I've experienced the same problem for a certain period but never care..
Then ceased at all.
Maybe it can be a bug on the settings of the internal WAN of my provider (I got ADSL) that someone fixed.

so.. After visiting the site... send an e-mail to your provider explaining the problem.. and wait..

Lol, if there was, I would have already jammed up the entire Internet!

And maybe I'll try mane's command prompt idea. I like the way you can do things with the command prompt. I did the Blaster worm shutdown thing on my teacher's computer once. She isn't so IT savvy so she told me to help her fix it. I took the time to play around with the computer. hehe:D
