WinDriver Ghost

WinDriver Ghost provides you the easy and fast detection, backup and restore of the entire hardware device drivers currently on your system. With it, you can even find the latest drivers for your hardware and install them onto your computer. Just one or two mouse button clicks, you will have all your hardware devices extracted and backuped to any folder you want. When you reinstall or upgrade your system, you can restore them by clicking a button, after reboot once, all the drivers will be installed and will function well. Also you may choose to backup a certain driver or the entire drivers to an EXE automatic installer. If you have a hardware that is troublesome, just remove it with the software.

Platform: win3,win95,winnt,winxp

i tried this out and it made a directory with all my drivers init

when i re-installed xp i didnt need a driver disk

it was all in the directory and i simply pointed to the directory whern windows installed my devices

highly recommended for users who would like to backup all the drivers on the computer

Good software. Should be in every technicians kit. Some of us here at Techzonez, MSFN, and The Portal have been using it for a few months now. It was originally called WinDrive Expert. Later, renamed to WinDrive Ghost.

It will also burn the drivers to CD. Next time you have to update a corrupted driver or do a clean install of Windows "All" pop in the CD and you are good to go. Get the system in peak order with all the latest driver updates that work for your system and burn to CD. Tip, during a clean install of XP, we are prompted for third party drivers, pop in the CD and XP will install with your latest drivers. No more having to hunt for driver disks.

This is the freeware version we use:

Note: Use WinRar to unpack

I have an old Epson 400 printer. The drivers are included in XP but when I use Windriver Ghost it says they should be backed up when I did Fast Collect. It also informs me that the manufacturer is MS (not Epson).

Now, when I back up the Epson drivers anyway, knowing I don't really need to, the program runs forever just recycling through the c drive looking for drivers and not finding them.

An anomaly?

This is great if you have an old laptop and you want to re-install the os but don't have the drivers for anything.

just use this program to back up the existing drivers and it makes it a lot easier.
