I am considering starting a team TZ MOHAA clan. With enough interest, I might host a server and let you guys and girls play to your hearts content. Please let me know via this thread or PM if you are interested. Skill level is unimportant, as is hardware and connection type, though you might have serious lag with a 28.8K modem..

I have gamed with 56K using mohaa, and though laggy I was able to do it rather ok. My ping was high as well, but that just makes you use caution rather than take it rambo style.

Just wondering if we could get something like this started.

Well,
Make sure you have the game installed. Also get the expansion, Spearhead. Once it is all installed, check out my mod thread. Download any mods you want. Most of them are small less than 5MB though some are large, especially the maps.

Now we have FG and Richard on, it is starting to look decent. Let me pop up a quick website for the mods that I will host on my server. Tonight I will set the server up on a crap machine as a dedicated server.
I will post the details of that soon. The only thing that concerns me is the IP, mine is not static, but I will update it on the boards everyday so that you can connect.

LEt me know if you are having issues with installing the MOHAA + expansion and I can help.

After that, it is all over but to do it. ANyone else willing to hop in and take a swing with the TEAM TZ mohaa clan?

Dialup does suck, but you can still play. I have played MOHAA online with a 56K connection. It was pretty but it was playable.

I forgot how to run the game - all I see is an uninstall exe. When the game ran, I made it as far as shooting targets and throwing grendades (target practice) - and through the door - that's it.

If your using the backup you made ;), make sure CloneCD tray is loaded & hide the CD-R is ticked..are you trying it in a DVD or CD-R/RW ?? the DVD shouldn't need the hide CD-R but sometimes the backup will only work in the burner...just use your original CD :p

Yep Lynch you do. But it is a great addition. It adds several killer maps, a couple new weapons, support for British, Russian, German and AMerican troops. Realism support, voting has been improved, and the overall game play has been improved.

Spearhead just made the game that much better.
Rev, we need to start a Graphics card poole.. Where all the users donate money, and we appropriate the cards based on proven need. :p

Anyone able to join my server? It is still going. I am not able to check now because I am at work.

The mods I used are the Japanese soldier skins, the 101st infantry skins, the norway skins, the german tank commander skins.

I haven't installed any of the maps on the test server yet.. so the default maps are fine.

I do have a bloodpatch installed. Not sure which one, but I will let you know as soon as I get home.

I have a sound mod as well, but I have forgotten it as well.

I will give you a more detailed layout of the mods installed as soon as I return home.

So to clarify...you need The full game Medal of Honor: Allied Assault and the expansion pack Spearhead.

I only have the Spearhead multiplayer demo (free) and from what I can tell, Spearhead is awesome.

Need HELPPPP!!
I installed MOHAA, and now I am ready to install Spearhead.
It tells me that my version is old, so it launches the patch installer
The patch is for UK&US version and then it tells me that I don't have that version and it closes, tries to continue the instalation of Spearhead, and the patch installer goes again in a vicious circle unless I cancel.
So, how do I install the patch??

Found out why you couldnt get on my server today... my wife shut it off by accident. I have since corrected it, and she now knows not to turn it off..

Sorry, but I still need someone to test it now that it is up. I can get on using my LAN IP, but I can't test it using my external IP....

YOu will need SPearhead. You will need all the patches for the origial MOHAA as well as for Spearhead to play. Versions 1.10, 1.11 and 2.11. You will need a mohaa bloodpatch, I will be offering that up for download very shortly. All maps as of now are from the original games... no modded maps yet.. will be added later.

Skins, if you have a skin that you'd like me to add, I am more than willing. Right now I have about 20 character skins and a set of ALLY AND AXIS weapon skins, that are hosted on the server. Those will be made available very shortly.

If you would like to create your own skin let me know and I will put it on the server as well. It should be in a PK3 format.

Let me know what day is good, for all of you interested in playing mohaa with Techzonez. The best way to get a game going is to get on MSN messenger, and get a small group together. That way you will know when each other can join the game.

Just keep trying until I can get home and check it out. I wonder why you can't join? My server is hosted behind a firewall, and it is notorious for not letting users connect over FTP, MSN messenger, or gaming when the other user has a router or firewall installed. I can't do remote assistance from my company LAN because of this.. Routers are great but they make for headaches whenever you want someone to connect through it.

I am currently trying to install windows 2003 server. As soon as I get it up and everything installed I will host the MOHAA server. I think by running a server OS, that the gameplay will be faster. I am also in the process of picking up a new CPU, the 680mhz is just not cutting the mustard.. (random restarts under load), so bare with me. Keep practicing the clan will be started soon. Hopefully we can game this weekend, as tonight I will work on setting up windows 2003 server.

I still can't get into techzonez. If you guys want to try out that heavily modified game, it's called Rocketmonkey 64.240.57.213 - i'ts really fast no limit on ammo and no reloading. The weapons shoot super fast.

Are you behind a router? that is the only time I have seen troubles with users joining the server.

If so, I suggest making sure you have opened your ports inside your router for MOHAA.

XP imposes a lot of default security without asking, perhaps you should check through the security policies.

AHHH!!!

I just finally got spearhead (i'm a little slow) and now when I go to download the 2.11 patch, I'm getting a file not found.

I went to the Medal of Honor website (Medal of Honor (http://www.ea.com/eagames/official/moh_alliedassault/download/demo.jsp)) and all they have is a Spearhead Multiplayer Demo Patch v2.11 (384k)...

Anyone have a copy of the patch I can grab?

I am still having problems getting Mohaa Server to run in windows 2003 server.. For some reason I can see it on my LAN, but I cannot even join from my LAN.. very strange. I have been working on this for 2 days now, and cannot figure it out. I think it has something to do with windows 2003 security settings but I have, as of yet, been unable to figure it out. I may just go back to windows XP, or better yet, host it on a linux server.

the lower the ping the better, but gameplay is fine even at pings of around 250-300.. as long as everyone else is at that ping value...

If you find yourself on a server with people in the >100 PING range, and you are at 500, you will be slaughtered.

If you get a ping above 600... it's best to change servers...

Was also some guy named Oolong tea that must of been in God mode...I blasted him with my machine gun & he turned around and shot me in the head :( needless too say I died 50 times and never killed anyone....lol

the server is up and working great. Check the IP address...

Click start, Run, Type CMD
then type PING techzonez.dyndns.org

Put a space between ping and techzonez.dyndns.org

double check the IP. that might be the culprit. The server has been up and working all night long.

Sorry FG about the ping, but you are most likely 8000 miles away from the server :D

I was on BB's server today, my ping was 358 & I was able to kill ! :D out of 8 peep's I was ranked 4th in kills :D :D two of my team mates were kicked off server for killing me all the time..lol

Initially I had Friendly Fire shut off. They voted to turn it on.. after 2 or 3 team kills, you are kicked, but not banned. You can return. It almost kicked me because I naded a group of friendlies by accident :D

The server is doing rather well. Got my wife to stay off of that PC.. gave her the laptop to roam around on. :D

I went to get a RAM upgrade last night but the store was out of SDRAM.. they only had Notebook, DDR, and RIMM ram.. :(

Found a website that has it very cheap... might pick up a few 256MB sticks... right now it has 2 toshiba 128MB PC100 SDRAM.

After that, I think the Lagginess of the server will subside. I still wish I could get it to work in windows 2003 server.. Guess I will have to wait on that one.

I found a server that has even more mods than rocketmonkey. There are tanks driving down the street and low flying aircraft dropping carpet bombs - they tell you to take cover.

yeah, that one i've been playing - it is lame. the guns shoot too fast and you have to reload- however, I do like rocketmonkey just for the pleasure of blowing people up and no reloading. There is another server that mods the guns to shoot very slowly - it was annoying at first but took more skill and accuracy - and you have to plan your kills.

I remember one Japanese server had it setup so that gravity was screwed. Anytime you jumped or fell from a building you could float around.. now that was kewl. :msntongue

that is the current IP. Again, if you want to know the up-to-date IP, simply click on the start button, click RUN
then type:

ping techzonez.dyndns.org

that will show my IP.

If it flashes too quickly for you to get the current IP, then click start, click run, type:
CMD

then type:

ping techzonez.dyndns.org

and write the IP that it shows.

That should do it. I had about 14 people on earlier.

One thing, do not vote to change the server to FLAGHAFEN.. or however you spell it... there is an error with it that I haven't been able to work out just yet. :P

got my first taste of MOHAA online with the new rig that took me and fastgame 2 days to realise it was a bad hd...but was very slow doing the matrix mode...then fastgame enlightened me that lower pings are better and sure enough was rocking out. BattleField 1942 is another FPS game similar to MOHAA, has a different style to MOH but still a great game. You get to go through various stages driving Tanks, planes boats etc and have to capture flags to win the stage.

There were two things I didn't like about BF1942, one was the Multiplayer lag and the other was the shooting ability.. it was wretched... Take being a sniper for example. you have to be a damn near professional gamer to be an effective sniper...

:(

But the driving part was fun. Driving all those vehicles. I am anxious to play that Desert Combat mod.

Never played BF 1942. Actually with MOHAA it was my first (close) to real war FPS game :D I am more the type of fast paced action. had finished JK II with some of the mods and expansion too. I just love the light Saber. After getting it, I didn't know of any other weapon :p
I do love too the old UT. I never played UT 2003 online, but I like that one too.

Believe it or not, I actually have less lag playing BF1942 than I do MOHAA, and I'm on 56K! :)

As for shooting ability...well...that just takes practice my friend... ;)

And...There is nothing like BF for fast-paced action. Bombs dropping everywhere, snipers hiding in the hills, tanks rolling around...
