Hello, I bought a video card fan, that I may have to return. I can't seem to take off the old heat sink and fan.

The new one is copper and comes as a kit with thermal stuff and all - but does not give instructions to remove the old one.

Does anyone know any tricks to do so?

Here ya go LK GPU Heatsink removal (http://www.overclockercafe.com/Articles/GPU-HSF_Removal/)

I have used that removal procedure successfully several times.
Just be careful, and take your time.

You can also put the v-card in a baggie & throw in the freezer for a couple of hours and it'll pop off using the same procedure as Rev's link.

You better not break phishhead's v-card

I pulled the fan off and pulled back the label and put a drop of oil in there and it's working now.

phishhead's v-card? = :D !!

yes, the fan is spinning like new again - no sense taking it off now.
