We have got our hands on the newest build of the Windows XP Service Pack 2. This time it's version 1185 and includes the patches and updates released until now. This build can be installed by simply running the EXE.
:D I downloaded it. took 20 minutes at 149KB/sec.

Windows.XP.SP2.v1185.exe
That is the file name. Now about this release. Some users are reporting that this is causing some issues.. some cannot get it installed, some have issues with it finishing the install.. some have reported bugs etc...
I caution you to use this at your own risk. I personally wouldn't install it on my main PC. I have a test machine, that I use it on. You've been warned :p

Any news on when we can expect the final release?
Do you have SP2v1204 installed? Any issues with it so far?

I am shying away from this one. I haven't installed it.. waiting on the final release. I haven't heard anything about the expected date of release, but usually when the leaks appear, it is not too long thereafter that the real deal comes out.. a month or two, maybe three.

Hmmm...I might just take that advice and wait. 147MB over 56K is not time well spent if it causes me grief.
